I haven't read all 380 pages so don't know if this has been asked yet.
The animal kingdom in this world is based upon survival of the fittest, where violence and deceit are frequently used to gain mates and territories.
Are other worlds frequently based upon this model or is it more unusual, and cooperation or some other model found more often?
