Embracing the Unfamiliar - HISTORY
as awareness embraces the unfamiliar
our universe now no longer similiar
could it be that humanities history
is also not what was thought to be

imagine this..........

"During the Mesozoic, proto-Saturn (Ouranos) orbited the Sun in what is now the asteroid belt. It was probably the only body orbiting the Sun, its immense size locking it into a binary system which astronomers believe to be the more usual solar system formation. Earth and other satellites orbited proto-Saturn, which dominated the skies to the almost complete exclusion of the Sun and other celestial bodies; in comparison, the Sun was an insignificant body, proto-Saturn being the main source of heat and light.

The Earth was dominated by the large single super-continent Pangaea, with the World Mountain at its epicentre, and surrounded by a fresh-water shallow Sea. Only a non-rotating synchronous orbit, with the super-continent locked into and facing proto-Saturn, would account for this stability.

The climate was sub-tropical with high humidity. The synchronous (syn-, chronous: 'together with Saturn'?) orbit meant constant light and heat, and hence no variation in temperature. There were no tidal forces in the large shallow Sea, and hence no sedimentation. There were no seasons and hence minimal tree rings.

Birds, mammals and our ancestors inhabited the planet during the Mesozoic and coexisted with the dinosaurs .
In much the same ways as our diversity exists today, cultures varied from the sophisticated, who lived towards the World Mountain, to the primitive who lived towards the edges of the super-continent. Giantism was common in this era of reduced gravitation and size and bulk were no disadvantage.

The Earth and original satellites of proto-Saturn separated some 15,000-20,000 years ago and the Golden Mesozoic Age came to an end. Proto-Saturn separated into many parts, to form the gas giants Neptune and Uranus. Proto-Saturn became Saturn. Some of the smaller debris became moons of the outer planets and much remained in the original orbit as the asteroid belt. The events were witnessed by the peoples of the Earth and became the basis of the ancient catastrophic mythologies , beginning with the Genesis event 'Let There be Light'. During separation, Earth was saturated with radiation from proto-Saturn, which caused much mutation and was the catalyst for new sequences of evolution for many generations. The same radiation rendered all forms of radiometric dating useless, causing grossly exaggerated time-scales.

Separated from proto-Saturn, planet Earth commenced rotation and the charge focused on the World Mountain dispersed. The Earth lost its inherent stability and, with the new centrifugal force, the super-continent separated and 'drifted', changing the pear-shaped Earth into its present shape. The dispersion of the charge, together with piezo-electro effects in the rocks, enabled the separation to take place in hours, rather than millions of years.

The survivors of the catastrophe found themselves in a completely new environment: lower temperatures, seasons, diurnal variations, a changed atmosphere and an apparently greater gravitational effect. This was neither the environment, nor the 'solar' system, in which life had evolved."

Wow, great post...so was that the Golden Age that all cultures reference? Is there any more? I am, as always, enthralled.

Amun - An Ancient Aurora Filled Sky

Planetary chaos and intense geomagnetic storms encapsulated in the 'king of the gods', Amun.

Auroras are striking displays of coloured lights often seen over the Earth’s magnetic poles. They occur when the solar wind particles trapped by the Earth’s magnetic field collide with molecules of air in the upper atmosphere (ionosphere). They are a spectacular sight and take the form of rapidly shifting patches of colour and dancing columns of light of various hues. The colours observed depend on several factors such as atmospheric conditions, intensity of the solar wind, temperature and location. The aurora is always present in almost every area of the sky, but it is usually too faint to be seen except near the North and South Poles.

The intensity of the aurora is dictated by the solar wind, a stream of electrically charged particles from the Sun. When the solar wind blows exceptionally strong, the aurora increases. When the Sun is in the active phase it can unleash powerful magnetic storms that disable satellites, threaten astronaut safety, and even disrupt communication systems on Earth.

Amun is most commonly shown entirely in human form. Often he is standing or sitting on a throne wearing a red, flat-topped crown with two tall plumes and holding a sceptre in his hand. Thousands of images of Amun are to be found throughout the Pharaonic Egypt. The enormous temple complex of Karnak was the principal home of Amun where he was worshiped as the prominent divine entity. During the New Kingdom, his popularity eclipsed that of other major deities so much so he was referred to as the ‘king of the gods’.

The image on the left depicts Amun in typical form with blue skin, yellow kilt, and red flat-topped crown with tall plumes segmented into sections of blue, red and green (?). A thin yellow frame separates these 'sacred' colours. The Northern Lights photo on the right depicts a plumed or pillared aurora with similar colours i.e. mainly blue supported by green, red and a hint of yellow. Comparing Amun’s tall plumes with the aurora photo it is apparent they are clearly a symbolic representation of intense geomagnetic storms that dominated ancient skies.

Amun's epithets are completely consistent with an aurora filled sky.

Mysterious of form
Who raised high the sky
The king of the south and of the north
Prince of rays and beams of light
The flame which sendeth forth rays of light with mighty splendour
Living flame who came forth from Nun
King of heaven, ruler of the two lands
Who makes light/gives free passage
Secret of manifestations and sparkling of shape
Marvellous god rich in forms
Light was his coming into existence on the first occasion

Amun’s colours were at times interchangeable. Although his flesh was predominantly blue (main sacred colour), some images reveal a red coloured flesh. His segmented plumes were sometimes coloured yellow or white, as too was his crown. The plumes were often depicted devoid of segments and were painted just one colour, normally yellow or white.

The main colours of the aurora are blue, yellow, red and green and any variants in Amun's colours merely reflect the hues seen at the time which could change on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Sometimes red neon lights covered the entire sky, other times blue, green, yellow, white or a combination of all colours. The Egyptians reflected what they saw in their art.

The aurora manifests itself in many forms including homogenous arcs, bands, active arcs, rays, pillars, plumes, draperies (or curtains) and coronas. The aurora variations are reflected in the epithet which describes Amun as the 'One creator who has millions of forms & transformations'.

Amun was also known as ‘the hidden one’ and the ‘one whose true form could never be known’. Such 'hidden' traits reflect the transparency of the aurora. Unlike the light emanating from the body of the Sun, the auroral light had no solid body or attributable physical 'form'. In this respect the Egyptians had a blank canvass, and so chose to encapsulate the aurora as a human being adorning auroral hues and a plumed auroral crown.

The solar wind is deflected around the earth to form an enormous magnetotail which can extend more than 3,976,766 miles out into space. It is divided into two lobes, or tails, rising and setting in opposition to the Sun. Today it is invisible. From the point of view of Earth's horizons it appeared as two mountains with the title 'Lord of the Two Mountains'. Those electrical apparitions were also attributed to Amun. It's probably why he wore two plumes on top of his crown and not one, or three.

During that period all close proximity planetary bodies exhibited highly visible electrical traits (this would include the cometary plumes of Comet Venus). These were all attributed to Amun. It is the very reason why the omnipresent Amun/aurora rose to prominence to become the 'king of the gods'.

Perhaps 3,000 years of cosmic catastrophe is staring us in the face by way of every façade the length and breadth of the Nile Valley.

wow - cool thread Sicksent. Karnak is my MOST FAVORITE temple to visit - been there twice. Something about this place is magic. The colors and paintings are amazing. Every day new things are being discovered in Egypt about this amazing civilization. but Amun always fascinated me...he never looked "human", and he was actually worshiped as a god, like many other pharaos. But this era of Amun and the part of temple in Karnak always captivated me the most. One can only wonder how things were back then......

Sirius was the most important star in the sky to the ancient Egyptians. The ancient Egyptian calendar was based on the rising of Sirius. It is established for certain that Sirius was sometimes identified by the ancient Egyptians with their chief goddess Isis.

The companion of Isis was Osiris, the chief Egyptian god. The 'companion' of the constellation of the Great Dog (which includes Sirius) was the constellation of Orion. Since Isis is equated with Sirius, the companion of Isis must be equated, equally, with the companion of Sirius. Osiris is thus equated on occasion with the constellation Orion.

'The oldest and simplest form of the name' of Osiris, we are told, is a hieroglyph of a throne and an eye. The 'eye' aspect of Osiris is thus fundamental. The Bozo tribe of Mali, related to the Dogon, call Sirius B 'the eye star'. Since Osiris is represented by an eye and is sometimes considered 'the companion of Sirius', this is equivalent to saying that Osiris is 'the eye star', provided only that one grants the premise that the existence of Sirius B really was known to the ancient Egyptians and that 'the companion of Sirius' therefore could ultimately refer to it.

The meanings of the Egyptian hieroglyphs and names for Isis and Osiris were unknown to the earliest dynastic Egyptians themselves, and the names and signs appear to have a pre-dynastic origin -- which means around or before 3200 B.C., in other words 5,000 years ago at least. There has been no living traditional explanation for the meanings of the names and signs for Isis and Osiris since at least 2800 B.C. at the very latest. (!!!)

'The Dog Star' is a common designation of Sirius throughout known history. The ancient god Anubis was a 'dog god', that is, he had a man's body and a dog's head.

In discussing Egyptian beliefs, Plutarch says that Anubis was really the son of Nephthys, sister to Isis, although he was said to be the son of Isis.Nephthys was 'invisible' (K:> DARK STAR!)
, Isis was 'visible'. (In other words, the visible mother was the stand-in for the invisible mother, who was the true mother, for the simple reason that the invisible mother could not be perceived.)

Plutarch said that Anubis was a 'horizontal circle, which divides the invisible part ... which they call Nephthys, from the visible, to which they give the name Isis;and as this circle equally touches upon the confines of both light and darkness, it may be looked upon as common to them both.'
This is as clear an ancient description as one could expect of a circular orbit (called 'Anubis') of a dark and invisible star (called 'Nephthys') around its 'sister', a light and visible star (called 'Isis) -- and we know Isis to have been equated with Sirius.

Actually, Anubis and Osiris were sometimes identified with one another. Osiris, the companion of Isis who is sometimes 'the companion of Sirius' is also sometimes identified with the orbit of the companion of Sirius, and this is reasonable and to be expected.

(K: Think of the reliëfs in that old Hindu temple, there is also a god that takes the role as 2 diferent suns ..)

Isis-as-Sirius was customarily portrayed by the ancient Egyptians in their paintings as traveling with two companions in the same celestial boat. And as we know, Sirius does, according to some astronomers, have two companions, Sirius B and Sirius C.

(K: Maybe they were not talking about SIRIUS and SIRIUS B, but were they refering to the SUN and her DARK dwarf companion ???
This is understandable coz translaters interpreted the hyrogliefs according to their knowledge and that was that this solarsystem only had 1 Sun-star, so they were looking for other kandidates to make the story fitting and asumable ;) ...)

To the Arabs, a companion-star to Sirius (in the same constellation of the Great Dog) was named 'Weight' and was supposed to be extremely heavy -- almost too heavy to rise over the horizon. 'Ideler calls this an astonishing star-name', we are told, not surprisingly.

(K: heavy and dense ... a dwarf star that is denser then a normal star, so heavy that it took many years to RISE again over the horizon ... ;) ...)

The true companion-star of Sirius, Sirius B, is made of super-dense matter which is heavier than any normal matter in the universe and the weight of this tiny star is the same as that of a gigantic normal star.

The Dogon also, as we know, say that Sirius B is 'heavy' and they speak of its 'weight'.

The worship of Anubis was a secret mystery religion restricted to initiates (and we thus do not know its content). Plutarch who writes of Anubis, was an initiate of several mystery religions, and there is reason to believe his information was from well-informed sources. (Plutarch himself was a Greek living under the Roman Empire.) A variant translation of Plutarch's description of Anubis is that Anubis was 'a combined relation' between Isis and Nephthys. This has overtones which help in thinking of 'the circle' as an orbit - a 'combined relation' between the star orbiting and the star orbited.

(K: Secret religions, NWO, vatican.
This does rings bells , many bells !)

Plutarch says Anubis guarded like a dog and attended on Isis. This fact, plus Anubis being 'time' and 'a circle', suggests even more an orbital concept -- the ideal form of attendance of the prowling guard dog.

An Egyptian papyrus says the companion of Isis is 'Lord in the perfect black'. Isis's companion Osiris 'is a dark god'.

The Trismegistic treatise 'The Virgin of the World' from Egypt refers to 'the Black Rite', connected with the 'black' Osiris
(K: The occult and secret lodges ???? They DO woreship a black SUN ... I have seen that!)
, as the highest degree of secret initiation possible in the ancient Egyptian religion -- it is the ultimate secret of the mysteries of Isis.
This treatise says Hermes came to earth to teach men civilization and then again 'mounted to the stars', going back to his home and leaving behind the mystery religion of Egypt with its celestial secrets which were some day to be decoded. There is evidence that 'the Black Rite' did deal with astronomical matters. Hence the Black Rite concerned astronomical matters, the black Osiris, and Isis.

A prophecy in the treatise 'The Virgin of the World' maintains that only when men concern themselves with the heavenly bodies and 'chase after them into the height' can men hope to understand the subject-matter of the Black Rite. The understanding of astronomy of today's space age now qualifies us to comprehend the true subject of the Black Rite, if that subject is what we suspect it may be. This was impossible earlier in the history of our planet.

It must be remembered that without our present knowledge of white dwarf stars which are invisible except with modern telescopes, our knowledge of super-dense matter from atomic physics with all its complicated technology, etc., none of our discussion would be possible; it would not be possible to propose such an explanation of the Black Rite at all.

It was something aether posted a while ago...regarding prehistory survivors and I couldn't find it when I was looking for it this morning...but I'll try again.

The reason I was looking is that the subject keeps coming back at me...through conversation...through words in lectures...I'm sure I missed something regarding the concept which is why (I think) it keeps getting thrown back to me.

But there's little information on proto-saturn...or I'm just not searching it right.

Re: Embracing the Unfamiliar - HISTORY
Here are two that refer to Saturn but the one I was looking for was the "let there be light" connection to the bible...the father son etc...I can't remember much else but the concept behind it...

this is Graham Hancock whom looks at the same subject from a different angle....

[link to www.youtube.com]

here below are some comments on hancocks thinking...

the saturn theory is discussed because los alamos with all their resources are reaching the same conclusions.....

I'm curious if Mr. Hancock has ever looked into Saturnian Theory at all as it would seem to tie in very nicely with much of his work that I've gone through thus far, though I'm only just beginning and I guess I'll find out in due time.

If the capture of the Saturnian System occurred around 12,000 years ago it makes the "recent" cataclysm on Mars and the fact that human civilization around the world created monuments to the stars in their positions at that time make a lot of sense, not to mention all the other things.

Since the stars would be appearing to human civilization for the first time from the envelope of the anode glow of Saturn that encompassed the "golden age" that would have blocked out the stars beyond it it makes sense they would have been awed by them and would have built monuments to them in their current positions, as they first appeared.

Would not the change in sea levels at the end of the ice age, be related to the change of Saturn to the Sun?

Earth would have been going through chaotic climate variations during the change and generally speaking would have become much colder than when within Saturn's anode glow and the sudden shift in temperatures combined with all of the hydrogen/water shed from Saturn that came down on Earth could easily have created the flash freezing effects witnessed in places like the "permafrost forest" in Alaska and resulted in the ice age that those here should know didn't "creep" across the world from the poles as conventional theory stipulates.
 Quoting: aether 996585

that`s funny...this got sent indirectly to me 6 minutes ago written by wal thornhill..feedback cheers you up and makes you think ..huh

What then might be the Earth's history? The distant orbits from the Sun suggest that we were captured along with our Brown Dwarf parent. In the process, the electric power that drove our parent star was usurped by the Sun. As well as turning out the primordial light, the Sun stripped the Earth from its mother's womb along with the Moon. Night fell for the first time and stars appeared. Ice ages began suddenly. The polar caps formed. High latitudes became uninhabitable. It is worth adding that many of the moons, or remaining offspring, of the gas giants have surprisingly icy surfaces and some have atmospheres. Life may have existed once on Mars and some of those moons."

As the ancients observed, Saturn was our primordial parent star. Of course we must be careful in our identification. But there is one physical characteristic that links the parent with its offspring. It is the axial tilt. Like our moon, satellites tend to orbit their primary with the same face always turned toward it. If they orbit in the equatorial plane, their spin axis will be aligned with that of the primary. As gyroscopes, the satellites will retain the same tilt even if jolted from their orbit, although the process may induce a wobble of the spin axis. It is therefore highly significant that two key planets identified by the ancients — Saturn and Mars — have axial tilts closely similar to that of the Earth. The tilt of Saturn, at 27 degrees to the ecliptic plane, is itself an enigma — unless it formed independently from the Sun.

But Venus was also identified as a spectacular discharging comet in the ancient congregation of planets. What can be made of that? It can be explained if Venus was the latest child of Saturn. As explained earlier, Saturn shows the symptoms of having given birth recently. The birth would be triggered by a sudden change in Saturn’s electrical environment when it crossed from interstellar space into the Sun’s plasma envelope, or heliosphere. The voltage drop across the Sun’s plasma sheath would almost equal the full driving potential of the Sun, measured in tens of billions of volts. Rather than being an anode in the galactic discharge, Saturn would become a cathode in the Sun’s environment and subject to forming cathode jets. Saturn could be expected to 'spit the dummy' in such a circumstance! Venus was one such 'dummy,' ejected from the equator of Saturn.

Saturn’s swift rotation delivered a 'slap on baby’s bottom' to Venus giving it a slow retrograde spin. The magnitude of the axial tilt of Venus to the ecliptic is much less than Saturn's, which suggests that the Venusian orbit was tilted away from Saturn’s equatorial plane due to electrical capture forces acting on that dying star. We have abundant pictorial evidence that Venus was wrenched from its orbit in a polar direction shortly after it was born. (See the Egyptian "Eye of Ra" above).

This account explains many odd things about Venus; its slow retrograde spin; its hellish temperature, having being born recently from the core of a brown dwarf star; its thick atmosphere inherited from the brown dwarf and subsequently modified by cosmic discharges; and its equatorial scars caused by spectacular radial discharging, which was faithfully recorded by the petroglyph artists. Venus carried away significant charge from its parent so that it still has a 'cometary' magnetotail and its mountains glow with plasma discharges. Venus also shows a surprisingly young surface that gave rise to ad hoc theories of resurfacing events. They are unnecessary. Venus is a baby.

Re: Embracing the Unfamiliar - HISTORY
I have no clue how any of it fits...hopefully you can make some sense of it for me? Lol

shockingly simple to see...infinitly complex to consider altering if one has the desire to alter...

cause of all effects was given the name god(s) because the observed cause of humankinds cataclysmic end of their golden age was translated as such

because this was a material observation god(s) were understood to be of material reality

what was observed was a long dispute between the god(s) father, mother and son ..caused by the mother (venus) going mad and attacking the father(saturn) prompting their son(mars) to intervene..

...culminating in a final battle resulting in all three leaving humankind to positions still visible but far away from earth and each other ....

...replaced by a new god(sun) with companion(moon) whom force humanity into totaly different lifestlye not nearly as good as their remembered lifestle greatly missed and named golden age...

...the net result is everything humankind believes is fataly flawed by their original attribution of cause and effect....

.. within the past 120 years the correct cause of all effects has been discovered and recently translated into correct translation of understanding...

...this coincides with earth and our solar system physicly entering into an era of incresed cause of all effects physical presence ....

.....the last times this happened humankind did not possess within it`s imagination the correct translation or any meaninful understanding of the cause....

....now it does so ....

...this time..... given enough time and experiences ...

....a happy ending will manifest.....

Sorry to intrude...it seems as if I kind of needed your...direction...in a way...I had such a hard time earlier locating this but it seems flowing now...

thumbs

The details of the early catastrophes affecting our Earth in Dr Velikovsky's reconstruction have yet to be filled in, but the general outline as hinted by Dr Velikovsky and his associates runs something like this:-

1. Ours was a double star system originally, Sun plus (probably) Saturn.
2. A passing dark star - e.g. Jupiter (19) - was attracted to the System and entered it.
3. It collided with or disrupted Saturn.
4. Some of the débris of this collision is marked by the asteroid belt of today (20).
5. Saturn went nova as a result of disruption.
6. Comets originate from the great collision (21).
7. But the Venus-comet was born of Jupiter, so did Jupiter acquire some of the mass of the disrupted Saturn, thus itself becoming unstable? (22)
8. Some more of the débris from Saturn approached the Earth and was the cause of the great Deluge, whose waters were salty.

[link to www.tresman.co.uk]

6. Mythology of the Flood

There is a universal mythology dealing with the Deluge of Noah (91). A tale in which mankind is destroyed by water with the exception of one man (or a few) who escapes in some kind of craft is common to the Greek (Deucalion), Persian (Xisthros), Hindu (Manu), Jewish (Noah), Chinese (Fo-hi), Akkadian (Utnapishtim) and Mexican (Nota) mythologies, to name but a handful of the many.

It appears likely that the source of the Flood waters was the body Saturn. Sieff (92) interprets Job's narrative in just that vein. Ugaritic myths (93) tell that El (i.e. Saturn) was the source of the Flood waters. In the Papyrus Ani (94) Atum threatens to revert the land once more to the floodwaters.

There is also some evidence to the effect that Saturn warned man of the coming of the flood. Just as in Genesis the Creator warns Noah of the impending Deluge, so Kronos warns Deucalion (95) and Ea (=Kronos, according to Berossus (96)) warns man in the Akkadian myth (97). In the Mexican myth, it is Titlachahuan who warns Nota (98).

Re: Embracing the Unfamiliar - HISTORY
Just found this...I copied but a minute portion...sorry for the long cut and paste but maybe it will whet the appetite of others to read the rest at the link.

Of the five visible planets today, none is more enchanting than the ringed gas giant Saturn, now the object of intense investigation by NASA’s Cassini probe. Data returned by the earlier Voyager probes, and now by Cassini, have left NASA scientists in a state of awe, as one surprise after another has re-defined our picture of Saturn and its moons.

Yet when it comes to surprises, nothing discovered about Saturn in the space age can match the bizarre stories ancient priests and astronomers told about the planet. In recent centuries the story was almost forgotten, and all that is left in our own time are the barest fragments of a story once told around the world. But that story can be reliably reconstructed through cross-cultural investigation, with a priority on the most archaic sources.

No one can say why early starworshippers esteemed Saturn as the founder of a lost Golden Age; or why they invoked Saturn as the “sun”; or why this luminary was said to have ruled from the celestial pole so far removed from the paths of the planets today. And what was the “Great Conjunction” of the Golden Age? What did the ancient chroniclers mean by the “fall” of the god from his original station, or the great wars of the gods that are said to have ensued?

Then again, why should the modern world care? What interest could myths and superstitions hold for humankind in recent centuries, after the tools of direct observation began to unveil the secrets of planetary history? Surely no message from antiquity could compare with the growing powers of direct observation since Tycho Brahe, Johannes Kepler, and Galileo Galilei.

Science has displaced myth and superstition. But is it possible that, in our scientific confidence, we’ve missed something of incalculable value? If the mystery were limited to a handful of absurd claims about Saturn, that would be one things. But as it turns out, the Saturn myth is just a window to a vastly larger story. It can now be demonstrated that there are hundreds of mythic archetypes or points of agreement between the early cultures. Together they reveal an eerie coherence that could not be accidental. Random speculations or self-serving inventions from one culture to another could not have produced the underlying unity that has been documented in recent years.

The great themes of world mythology are universal: the story of a former age of gods and wonders, whose first chapter was a “perfect” time of peace and plenty; the story of an exemplary "king of the world," the mythic first in the line of kings; descriptions of the gods as luminaries of immense size and power, wielding weapons of thunder and stone; the universal claim that the ancient world evolved by critical phases or cycles, punctuated by sweeping catastrophe; global traditions of gods and heroes ruling for a time, then departing amidst terrifying spectacles and upheavals. The transfiguration of the departed gods into "stars"; the identification of these ruling gods with planets in the first astronomies.

Even prior to the birth of the great civilizations, humans around the world drew remarkably similar pictures of things never seen in our sky. The “sun’ they carved on stone does not look the Sun in our sky. In the birthplace of astronomy we see a crescent placed on ancient images of the “sun,” and a radiant "star" placed squarely in its center. Neither our moon nor any star can be reconciled with such patterns, many of which are global.

What was the cosmic mountain celebrated around the world, called a pillar of fire and light rising along the world axis? And what was the radiant city or temple of heaven, remembered as the prototype for sacred space on earth?

To such collective memories must be added that of a star-goddess with long-flowing locks, a goddess revered as "the giver of life"; the transformation of this goddess into an ogress raging across the sky with wildly disheveled hair; a fiery serpent or dragon attacking the world; an ancestral warrior or hero, born from the womb of the star-goddess to free the world from chaos monsters.

We’ve paid far too little attention to the motives driving the ancient world. Their desperate yearning to recover the semblance of a lost cosmic order. Their collective efforts to replicate, in architecture, the towering forms claimed to have existed in primeval times. Their festive recreations, through mystery plays and symbolic rites, of cosmic violence and disorder. Their repetition, through ritual sacrifice, of the deaths or ordeals of the gods. Their brutal and ritualistic wars of expansion, repeating on the battlefield the cosmic devastation wrought in the wars of the gods.

Sickscent, I know you visit the Thunderbolt forum quite a bit this portion will really help in your research for other information.

From same it as above, further down, now talking about the North Star.

[link to www.thunderbolts.info]

Significantly, the same overlapping images of a polar sun or sovereign luminary at the cosmic center, occur in the Americas. In southern Peru the Inca Yupanqui raised a temple at Cuzco to the creator god who was superior to the sun we know. Unlike the solar orb, he was able to "rest" and "to light the world from one spot." As the pioneering Mesoamerican scholar, Zelia Nuttal, noted many years ago, the only reasonable position in the sky for fulfilling this requirement is the celestial Pole. "It is an extremely important and significant fact," writes Nuttall, "that the principal doorway of this temple opened to the north." (Since the north celestial pole is not visible from Cuzco, 14° below the equator, Nuttall assumed that this tradition of a polar sun was carried southward.)

Cottie Burland tells us that, among the Mexicans, "the nearest approach to the idea of a true universal god was Xiuhtecuhtli, recalled as the Old, Old One who enabled the first ancestors to rise from barbarism. Xiuhtecuhtli appears as the Central Fire and "the heart of the Universe." "Xiuhtecuhtli was a very special deity. He was not only the Lord of Fire which burnt in front of every temple and in the middle of every hut in Mexico, but also Lord of the Pole Star. He was the pivot of the universe and one of the forms of the Supreme Deity." An apparent counterpart of this central fire is the Maya creator god Huracan, the "Heart of Heaven" at the celestial pole.

The Pawnee locate the "star chief of the skies" at the pole. He is the "star that stands still." Of this supreme power they say, "Its light is the radiance of the Sun god shining through."

The language used by the different cultures is remarkably similar. Yet the underlying idea--a great luminary or "sun" god ruling from the celestail pole--poses a blatant contradiction of direct experience today. How did it happen that the same contradiction occurred in every corner of the ancient world?

Re: Embracing the Unfamiliar - HISTORY
as awareness embraces the unfamiliar
our universe now no longer similiar
could it be that humanities history
is also not what was thought to be

imagine this..........
