I doubt if that was the intention, but it's cool with those of us on the Gulf...we've had enough doom, thank you very much. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1032329 United States 10/30/2010 12:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Not even a hurricane...tropical storm. meh. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1135604Having been thru plenty of each, I personally prefer the hurricane. Tropical storms dump far larger amounts of water than do hurricanes, plus they are usually very slow moving and like to stall out. More flooding with storms and tropical depressions. Personally, I'd rather clean up after 85MPH sustained winds than two feet of water in my living room. I say that because I have experience doing both. :-( |

[...] Forecasters said it could become a Category 2 storm Monday evening and possibly reach Category 3 by midweek, with winds around 115 mph (184 kph). [...] Haiti issued an orange storm alert, the second highest level. Authorities warned southern and western regions - including the quake-ravaged capital of Port-au-Prince, where an estimated 1.3 million people are living in tent camps - to be on guard for high winds, thunderstorms and possible flooding. But with few usable storm shelters and no feasible evacuation plan, residents will largely be on their own." More: [link to www.forbes.com] |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 945308 New Zealand 10/31/2010 11:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yip typical hype bullshit ... "It is expected to weaken to a tropical storm in the next 24 hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Centre said. But the storm is seen regaining strength by Wednesday as it passes south of the Dominican Republic and Haiti, where more than one million survivors of a devastating Jan. 12 earthquake are living in sprawling tent camps. Under some models of the storm's track, Tomas is forecast to turn to the north and head toward Haiti as a hurricane as early as Thursday. Other projections show the storm possibly shifting course farther east toward the Dominican Republic or even west toward Jamaica." [link to thestar.com.my] |
