Work experience in Poundland or Tescos...sounds like slave labour to me.

it Is slavery and B.S.
No doubt about it!

I agree it is slavery , when they take mnoey to support a bunch of wankers out of my checks I certainly feel enslaved.

Time to change things , monthly random tests for alcohol nicotine drugs and weight. If you got money to drink smoke do drugs and get fat , you have too much extra money and benefits need to be downsized accordingly

Work will make you free!

From the BBC:

Long-term jobless 'could face compulsory manual labour'

Iain Duncan Smith is targeting long-term benefit claimants

Long-term benefit claimants could be forced to do compulsory manual labour under proposals being put forward by the government, it has emerged.

Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith is set to outline plans for four-week placements doing jobs like gardening and litter clearing.

...He said: "One thing we can do is pull people in to do one or two weeks' manual work - turn up at 9am and leave at 5pm, to give people a sense of work, but also when we think they're doing other work.

"The message will go across; play ball or it's going to be difficult."

Under the plan, claimants thought to need 'experience of the habits and routines of working life' could be put on the month long, 30-hour a week placements.

...Under the scheme, job advisers would be given powers to require tens of thousands of claimants to take part in community work for charities or local councils....

People use your MINDS and PURE LOGIC. What is this really about? When Iain Duncan Smith, the Secretary for Works and Pensions at the DWP, that controls Jobcentre Plus (JCP), states this it means the following:

1) It is designed to undermine the National Minimum Wage (NMW) of £5.93 per hour, and destroy the White Middle Class.

2) It is designed to foment massive CIVIL UNREST TO CLAMP down with the Military & the Police on the streets.

3) It is designed to merge PRIVATE and PUBLIC employment structures to create 'Democratic Corporate Fascism'.

4) It is designed to make Jobcentre Plus (JCP) more militant in crappy 3rd Generation Unemployment Regions.

Britain is f**ked, the UK Economy is f**ked and British Culture is f**ked thanks to 300,000 s**t whore immigrant bitches coming to the UK and destroying the entire once brilliant structure of British Society. Britain was a NATION of craftmanship, shipbuilding, naval ordinance and agricultural and agrarian perfection. LOOK at it now, mixed race immigration, Muslim, inner city sewer whore trash drug dumps everywhere.

England is totally doomed to economic and financial failure. ALL HM Government is doing is prolonging the financial death of the UK Economy. Where is the INVESTMENT, the TRAINING, the supposed National Apprenticeship Scheme (NAS)? Why can't they bring back the Youth Training Scheme (YTS)? Why not bring in National Service for 16-18 year olds not doing NVQ Levels or A Levels???? Why not bring back the heavy industrial skilled manufacturing base???? Northern England is economically being wrecked after 25-30 years of 'outsourcing' to China & South East Asia.

I'm in the U.K. and this is disgusting. I work and pay tax, not a well paid job. I cannot for the life of me think why every person in the U.K's ALARM BELLS are not going off over this.

This is sickening. Fuck the people, we gotta make profit. WAKE THE FUCK UP PLEASE!!!!!!!!

Well said.

The UK Economy is totally f**ked and I believe V FOR VENDETTA is a closely approximate future British Society scenario. As usual, the Dopey Unbothered Sheeple Sleeple People pill popping, 24/7 Party Animal naive, denialistic VILLAGE IDIOTS will ignore, turn up the TV volume, put another CD on the stereo, go down the Public House for 9 pints of Stella Artois, 20 B & H cigarettes, and escape, escape and escape.

No positive political changes are on the horizon, no positive solutions and the AGE OF AUSTERITY, basically meaning the White British Middle Class (Rothschild Debt Taxation System) will be dismantled while they watch Eastenders, Coronation Street and the media whores on BBC News 24, Channel 4 News, Channel 5 News, Sky News and BBC Newsroom Southeast. Perhaps you would, perhaps not. It's not so easy if everything is stacked against you.

Being in business is never easy. People always think if you're self employed that your loaded but they don't see the hours of hard toil that it takes just to stand still.

"The perfect is the enemy of the good.", other people will always seek to stop you but if you doubt yourself then you've already lost.

they pay better than benefits... maybe they'll get over themselvs and actually get a job in tescos!

No, you work for Tescos or Poundland and then are back on the dole again. Shelf stacking for £2 an hour...major incentive there then. And you keep someone out of work.

working minimum wage will get you more money than job seekers allowance. they'll realise they can either stay on the dole and get £65 for 30 hours a week or they can CHOOSE to work for tesco for 30 hours a week and get £120. soon they'll see that either way they're working so they go for the better option.

Looks like the doctor offices will start filling up with individuals that have no desire to work. Claiming this or that, trying to be relieved of any manual labor.

Better yet, what percentage will wind up claiming that hurt their back while picking up trash or using a shovel.

Good. The Long term unemployed should not see benefits as a lifestyle choice.

Forcing them to work will get them back into the mind set needed by the UK right now.

So would you work 30 hours for £65?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1155538

People who say that sort of thing think it could never happen to them. They're probably right too but they really should get their head out of their arses - they probably have family to help out or have the contacts to get another job if they need or they are perpetual arse-lickers.

Trouble is a lot the long-term laid off will be older workers - yeah, a fifty-something cubicle jockey can do manual labor LOL.

come on people

this bullshit is just put out there to make you mad, just like all their 'initiatives' this past decade.

do they really BELIEVE this would work, in any fashion?

the only way forced labour WORKS is at the point of a gun.

if they did this to me, i'd go along, with a smile on my face, and covertly sabotage every aspect of the job, no matter what damage i did.

they'd be sorry they brought this bullshit in VERY quickly.

Then point of gun it should be. When you get caught doing your "covert sabotage", about 20 years in jail should teach your welfare leeching ass a lesson.

Put this program in the USA, and half the inner cities would starve before they would work.

Here we have a freedom hating, arrogant, brown shirt, peice of fascist loving shit on display !

I'm sure Stalin and Mao are your heroes, you socialistic piece of shit.

Sure, socialism only killed 100,000,000 people last century.

BTW, you uneducated fuck, the Brown Shirts were socialists. Your kind of people.

Go back and do your research on the brown shirts; dunce ! Fascists are experts at turning the working class people against each other;you are proof of that !
It is not the socialists who believe that the right to live must be earnend;that belief is cherished by your freinds, the fascists !

You ever hear of the National Socialist Workers Party AKA Nazis, you dumb fuck. Read a fucking book, will you?

Here are your heroes.

How Britain's new welfare state was born in the USA

The gathering was small and discreet and made no headlines at the time – but its significance for the future of our welfare state and for David Cameron's vision of a "big society" will become clear this week.

It was on a warm day in June that Professor Lawrence Mead, who inspired many of the US welfare reforms of the 1990s, strode into 10 Downing Street. The American guru had been invited by Steve Hilton, Cameron's chief strategist. Also present were senior Whitehall officials from the Treasury and other government departments. They were joined by Neil O'Brien, director of the rightwing thinktank Policy Exchange.

Mead was immediately struck by how eager the assembled team was to hear his ideas. "I was surprised how interested they were," he said.

Under detailed questioning, he told his inquisitors that attitudes to welfare in Britain had been characterised by a culture of "entitlement" for too long. The jobless knew they could get benefits while doing nothing in return, he warned.

In the US, attitudes had apparently moved on long ago and it was high time the UK followed suit. Welfare should no longer be seen as a "lifestyle" option. "Serious reform means ending entitlement by clearly imposing work as a requirement for aid," said Mead – and his words struck a chord. Even the disabled should be expected to work. In some cases benefits could be time-limited to help shunt people into jobs, he suggested.

This wont work there will be plenty of ways around it.

There is always a way around there systems if you know how to handle these robots they have working in the job centers.

How are you meant to look for work while your working for someone else is the first thing that comes to mind it would be a breach of your jobseeker's agreement.

What if you have job interviews on the same date they want you to work?

Just give them your mates mobile number and when they call he will confirm that you have an interview and hey presto.

I got the job but have to do an unpaid trial for the duration of however long they want me to work, as soon as the placement finishes tell them your trial was unsuccessful your mate will confirm.

I just made that up off the top of my head this does not faze me I will never work for this system of thieves and liars until it is a fair and decent system.

Do not pat tax, declare yourselves freemen look up common law.
