Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1168422i've read that he had some issues, but who doesn't? it's undeniable that he inspired peace and love, no matter what his problems were behind doors Actually yeah, I remember hearing about a guy who did a biography on John Lennon with a bias against him, saying basically that he was an overrated, bad guy. Maybe that's what you picked up on, FubarMan. I don't go for it, personally. If only for the actions I've seen of John Lennon myself, not by rumors or reputation, I have to say he was a great benefit to the world. As he made clear quite often, he wanted to make peace an everyday issue. To contrast it with its alternative. To remind us to "give peace a chance". Just to bring it up, as it so often isn't. He knew the media was watching him, so he utilized that. That's why he had the 'bed-in', 'hair-peace', and 'war is over if you want it'. All to bring the concept and the hope of peace back into everyday consciousness. I don't think we have any overabundance of that. |
