Not just do to "internet effect". Many are due to unseasonable cold this year casued by the BP Oils Spill and the degeneration of the thermohaline current. Some do just happen from time to time, but no this many.

Some look like obvius poisoning (Italy). Others I cannot say. I do not know the method, or motive.
