Wells, who seems courageous enough to address controversial topics and bring on guests with more front line info than mere opinions. Great voice as well. I lately get the impression of insincerity from no name, speaking in his smarmy manner, and brushing off critical questions from callers. His manner lately seems preoccupied or "teflon", to controversial topics and questions. Grating voice. Don't get me wrong, G.N. seems like a great guy and has some great shows, topics, and insights, but he also dredges up the same guests about the same overplayed topics, from ghosts & sasquatches through UFO sightings. Please bring on more of Wells, Knapp, Punnett and other hosts; let Noory retreat a bit in light of his show biz requirements. Be well. |

The guest will have just finished saying something awesome, or needed further explanation, and Snoory will either toss-out a mindless 'good point', or go right to the next caller, leaving me cringing for the half-dozen follow-up questions he never thought to ask. Art Bell was a master of asking unscripted, spontaneous, intelligent followup questions and injecting his own interesting comments to pry even more out of the guest. And he didn't give a crap if he made the guest sweat. If he didn't think the guest was measuring up, he'd boot the fool and go to open lines. With Art, four hours flew by like one because the listeners were always fascinated, entertained and transfixed as if they were reading a great book. The man had a set of balls and was a broadcasting genius. This is why GN is such a pitiful god-damned shame, and why the people who hired him and refuse to fire him should be taken out and horse-whipped. My husband & I listen to the Best of Art Bell on internet radio every night and when we lisen to Noory I just can't take it. I agree with everything you said, I said almost the same thing to my husband the other night. Art knew when to let a guest or a caller talk and when to get them back on track or off the phone. I like Wells for the same reason, he lets people talk. ANd his voice is very relaxing. |

Wells, I thought it was Art Bell just pretending to be someone else. John B. Wells has the same sentence structure. He has the same insight Art Bell has when posing questions. He has the same personality. Even if it was Art Bell, it would be very much in line with his personality. Remember Art Bell normally would disappear for months and then reappear. He would have guests that he would just dismiss because they were not up to par and then take only calls from listeners. |
