Gloomy User ID: 1222777 United States 02/02/2011 06:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't think you can "burn" away the magnetic field, as its generated by our iron core. Now it has been weakening possibly due to this coming pole shift which could happen REALLY fast once it gets past a certain point. Worst case scenario, the magnetic field goes down temporarily and we get bombarded with solar winds and CME's. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1202634 United Kingdom 02/02/2011 07:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Dense ionized solar wind streams are burning the earth's magnetic field..... Quoting: nodanthemanI dont care what CTers say or the bible thumpers say, none of that will matter once we all get scorched to death by the sun. Last night we had birds going crazy, earth quakes and compasses going nuts all at about the time this was going on. [link to theextinctionprotocol.wordpress.com] btw, the peak doesnt happen till next year. If it is twice as bad as this, we are screwed. Earths magnetic field comes from earths core |

Earths magnetic field comes from earths core Its weakening bro. South Atlantic Anomaly is a 3000 mile breach in the field. Google it. I think its both coinciding at once. Our field is weakening right at one of the worst times for sun spot cycles. The combination of the two could destroy life on the planet as we know it and I believe we have and are seeing the signs of this now. It is just sad that most have their head in up their ass and are too worried about bs theories and other non-sense. Can't say you were not warned..... |
Sir Phydeau User ID: 960398 United States 02/02/2011 09:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | lol ... I once pointed a magnifying glass using sunshine at a magnet and it wouldn't stick to metal any longer afterward. :P Sunshine, nor solar winds will weaken or "burn away" the magnetic field of the Earth, bro. It's generated by the molten iron core of the Earth. "When the facts change, I change my mind. What do you do, sir?" — John M. Dear disaffected Democrats: Welcome to the Libertarian Party, we think you will find our social tolerance delightful. However in exchange for this, you're going to have to find a way to be ok with people keeping their guns and more of their money. Dear disaffected Republicans: Welcome to the Libertarian Party, we think you will find our small government economic policies to your liking. However in exchange you will have to find a way to be ok with "the gays" getting married. Snacks are on the table, help yourself. Please introduce yourself to someone on "the other side", you might be astonished just how much you actually have in common. |

They say a high-speed solar wind stream and a CME could hit Earth's magnetic field on Wednesday--a double whammy almost certain to spark some degree of geomagnetic activity. High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras. Quoting: [link to spaceweather.com] |
