As a black man, I feel as though the socioeconomic oppression in the past has shaped us to a large extent. I think it's made a lot of African Americans skeptical about the Government, and question authority, in general. I think the feeling of being an 'outcast', in general, can "fuel" one to try to create a world in which there is equality, and cause them to take on things such as political corruption, equal rights, "standing up for the little guy", etc.

i ve given some thought to this theories.
and i read some texts about them.
i am european, and thus "white", but my nation was as colonized, genocided and enslaved since the roman times as any "coloured" nation in the modern times, so that as a slovenian, i feel more connected to all indigenous around teh woulrd than to any colonial nation, even if it is european in origin.

firstly, there is a difference between melanin and melatonin, although one is related to another.

secondly, the pigment is only one of seeveral genetic differences between the four races. there are several others, involving hormonic secretion and other subtle genetic differences. I believe there are differences also in mental processes, that is why people from different races have different gifts and talents. and that could as well be the reason, why people with african roots get lower results in iq tests which are written by european descendants, on the other hand, if musical talent or dancing talent would be measured, the results would be diametral. and i see no reason, why musical abilities would not count as intelligence indicators. music namely is not unintelligent.

thirdly, another theory, which in my opinion is more complex than the out of africa theory, explains, that genetic evolution most probably have taken place in the colder areas, because of the pressure of the environment.
in africa there are no winters, so not as much planning ahead is supposed to be needed to survive as in the areas, where winter is a survival challenge. so that was the main reason, why genetic differences took place.
the main differences are neotenic, meaning that the new generation of our ancestors kept some emrionic features even as adults (some biologists say, that the shortest description of a human would be this: sexually mature orangutan embrio), all humans namely do have some features of an orangutan embrio, our feet and overall baldness not being the only one. our skull as well is extremely similar to the skull of an orangutan embrio. also our body fat is spread under our skin as in orangutan embrios, etc. so our human "evolution" was not exactly a journey into the unknown, but it was neotenic in essence.
so this theory goes on to show, that there were several waves of neoteism spreading from east asia (peking man), respectively europe (neanderthal), which spread all over asia and africa. amd since africans are slightly less neotenic than europeans, which are as neotenic as the amrecian indians, but slightly less than the eastern asians, the theory goes on that our present races are mixtures between these neotenics and the older versions.

according to this theory, africans are only a bit closer to our ancestors than europeaans, americans and asians and we all are mixtures of different waves of our less neotenic and more neotenic ancestors.

the way i see it, all races are an essential part of humanity. in these times, this may not be as evident, and racial differences can be seen as some kind of a problem, or a temptation to put one race above the other in some respect or other, but this is only a temporary phenomenon, because we live in a spiritually not yet awakened time and we make problems out of nothing, but in better times, i am pretty sure, that our genetic differences can be seen as a blessing and as essentialy complementary.

I think what the OP brings up is valid and something that scares people. White skin maybe is a mutation. What is a mutation? A seemingly random change that is not necessarily bad.

There is an undeniable beauty in dark skin. Even skin that appears to be black. I think without the constructs of racism, black skin might be considered dominant.

I'm not even white and I can't be in the sun that long. I would love to be able to stay in the sun for hours without turning pink lol!
