Anonymous Coward User ID: 1497805 United States 08/08/2011 03:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm near Pasadena in Los Angeles and I am a programmer and always am working late at night. I hear this extremely deep pitch rumble every single night. Like some of the others said, it sounds like the first p-waves from an earthquake about to happen but it's not an earthquake. The closest thing I've heard to it is when they used to test rocket/jet engines in large underground concrete bunkers down in the west valley @ Los Alamos labs or whatever near Chatsworth. Anyone have any clues as to what this may be? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 3486090 Australia 10/17/2011 07:53 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hello, just like to report that here in Australia, Newcastle the deep underground rumblings have been going for 3 days non stop. Inside my brick home the rumbling is audible, sounds like very distant thunder. My friends a few miles away in the city have not heard anything. Had very short day of rumbling a year ago, then it went quiet up until 2 weeks prior the Japanese quake when the rumbles were on for 2 days. This is the most severe and continuous I've heard. Living in a quiet area allows easy recognition that the roll rumbles are from deep below. |

She even said (and she's an upper class, middle-aged, conservative woman), "I wondered if it was a bomb or an earthquake or the end of the world." It makes me wonder about the Black Ops craft I've read about, or. . . . ? Why can't I just google it and get a regular news item on it? This was the only thing I found. Then I heard the same thing again, a little later on. |

They tend to sound after 9pm. Today is 11/21/2011 and I just heard it again a few minutes ago, at 12:15am. I don't know what causes this sound, but would be interested in finding out. If anyone out there has any valid ideas, let me know. |

It was night and had no idea what it was but it sounded like a really loud or low plane... and it went on for a little while.. i'm sure it wasn't a plane because when i heard it like 2 months ago, i went outside and couldn't hear from what direction it was coming in no flashing plane lights in the sky either!! hmm. weird |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 15487909 United States 05/15/2012 07:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As fun as it is to question, try to just enjoy it. I live in the small city of Woonsocket, R.I. I'm 17 and haven't poked at drugs so don't be quick to judge if you know the place. Some nights I lay by my window at midnight and listen to the city. It's nothing to do with earth or dimensions. Don't overcomplicate it, it's a huge slab of city. It's just the frequencies of the cities energy combined. You can't just put a finger on a map and say "this is where it's coming from". It's an entire living city full of energy and energy grids. Ever hear an energy grids rumble? The power of it, transiting through the entire city, and if not I'm sticking with it. I have DREAMS of living where you live and when I get there I want rumbles, booms, the sounds of more life than here. Thanks for posting this by the way, it was cool reading that I'm not alone and everyone else's ideas, your friends dimension idea, SO cool :) |
jbjam User ID: 16714572 United States 05/26/2012 03:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A couple of times a week, in the middle of the night there is a sound that is just like a jet engine ramping up to full speed over maybe 30 sec then back down and off. This will happen several times in a row. My curiosity is what brought me to this thread. I was told it is a testing facility a number of miles away but i can't imagine how the city or local residence nearer the sound would put up with it. The airport is nearby but it is closed at night and the jets that arrive and leave are nowhere near as loud. It isn't the low rumbling referred to but it is a curious thing. |

I can hear it in pasadena ca... it can be heard in arcadia... like everyone says.. a disturbing , powerful low rumble. You can almost feel it just slightly. It seems to be from the south of Pasadena .... but its impossible to pin point exactly where. It is so wide spread... what the hell is it!? I recently heard it.. 6/20/ 12 .... it seems to be still going on. |
ghost_77 User ID: 23575872 United States 09/11/2012 03:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been hearing this rumbling noise in Pasadena for a couple of years now... I thought I was the only one. I had a theory that it was the Metro, light rail... even though I'm a good mile north of the tracks... I've never checked the timing to see if it coincided with any stops here in Pasadena... But, now that I hear of reports from other parts of the city, I'm not so sure. And, yes... it does seem to happen (or at least I only notice it) late at night. On another note, one of my dogs has been "freaking" out lately... it can happen at any time, but we've noticed that things seem to get intense for her shortly after 8:00pm. It's happening relatively consistently. I always wondered if she was hearing the rumbling as well... or if it's completely unrelated. Fascinating! |
ghost_77 User ID: 23575872 United States 09/11/2012 03:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | No sooner had I posted that last post, and I heard the rumbling again. It occurred at 12:41AM on Tuesday. I checked the Metro schedule out of curiosity, and the light rail was passing through the Lake Station heading towards Memorial Park... which is directly south of where I live. I'll keep checking to see if there are more consistencies, but regardless, it doesn't explain rumblings in other parts of the city. |

Artaius San User ID: 33317112 Germany 01/30/2013 04:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i guess that´s the first time I´ve ben witness to something like that. I´ve heard a similar thing, every 1 or 2 minutes and also lasting about 20 seconds. Soundes like airplanes out of nothing. There wasn´t any increase of the sound, it was rather like "boom" it´s there and then fading out a bit. I had to think of threads where some mentioned airplane sounds where neighbours were looking for what it was, it was described as very loud, what I heard here, it wasn´t that loud, but still odd. Anonymous Coward User ID: 24398416 United States 02/08/2013 08:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | One of my neighbors told me the following story: Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1349870 About 10 years ago she and her cousins were trying to find the Los Angeles Children's Museum downtown (daylight). She said that because of how the streets alternate one-ways, they ended up lost. They turned down a street that was near the old Los Angeles Times building and just decided to walk since they thought they were close to the museum. This street, from what she described, was full of trash, vacant empty buildings and no cars anywhere parked or using it in their transit. She said her cousin parked on the right side of the street - she remembers this because she said as the passenger, her car door opened to the sidewalk. Ok, this is when the story becomes unbelievable. She said that when she was getting ready to get out the car, she noticed all these humanlike creatures approaching the car. She said they either had no arms, no legs, were blind and were wearing rags and dirty head bandages. She said they seemed to either have disfigured human faces or no face at all! They were coming out of some abandoned building parallel to the car. They weren't talking, but she thought they were begging because the ones who had hands stuck them out. The ones who had one or no legs were scooting toward them and were grunting. She said she thought they were kids by their sizes but couldn't really tell b/c of facial disfigurement. Well, my neighbor looked to her cousin, the driver, and asked him if he was seeing what she was. She said he confirmed that she wasn't hallucinating & they got the hell out of there. She told her grandmother who didn't believe her and she said she had nightmares about this incident for weeks. She did admit to crying in fear when she saw these pathetic 'people'. Now, I'm not from LA and had been here approx. 6-7 yrs when I met her and she told me the story when we went downtown to a function. My 1st. reaction was to laugh, but I stopped when I realized she was dead serious, was starting to cry and said that now that she's thinking about them she'll have nightmares again. Every person I told this story to who were native to LA did not believe any of this and just wrote her off as crazy (she's not the most realistic person I know, but I don't think she's crazy). I haven't had a chance to talk to her cousin - he lives in Vegas now & they had a falling out. I saw her a couple months ago and asked her about it again because I had recently been downtown in the area I thought she described, though I didn't see anything. Her story was the same as her original version. The only thing I've found remotely similar to her story was a legend of the Lizard People (Google search results:) [link to www.google.com] This was back in the 1930's and I haven't come across anything more recent. If anyone has any insights or additional information, please post! My observations of "Los Angeles" 1. actors everywhere, including the "homeless" 2. several cities "designed" to be "los angeles" in various country, perhaps planets 3. they are playing a game with our minds 4. fear is their weapon, way to win 5. always carry a camera in "Los Angeles" |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 24398416 United States 02/08/2013 09:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I heard the same sort of noise tonight (November 2, 2011) and so did my next door neighbor. We're on the bluffs overlooking the Santa Monica Bay, and it went on and on. It sounds like the loud rumbling of a plane taking off, but unlike a jet, the noise continues for a much longer time and is sustained. It went on so long, my dog came out from the back bedroom where he was asleep to investigate, and my neighbor told me she noticed it, too, and called it, "Weird." Quoting: SophiaPearl 4543395 We agreed it was out of the ordinary. Yup same thing in "Minnesota" a few years ago... same exact sounds.. also tons of jets, planes and helicopters roaming the skies at the time.. very UNUSUAL for this area.. had dreams of giant robots running the city while i was there.. massive.. and they were targeting ppl, not to kill but to capture. |

I have lived in two different apartments in this area and hear the same thing. My boyfriend hears it too. Seriously this might sound stupid but I think it's aliens. It sounds like its coming from the sky! Most bazaar shit ever. |

At first i thought it was a loud truck driving by but then i realized I hear it all over the city, same exact pitch and duration, it never alters. Definitely not a truck. It comes every few minutes and lasts for about 20 seconds. it sounds like it is coming from the earth. Quoting: Ophelia 1281301 is anyone else hearing this? any ideas what it might be? My friend believes it is part of the transition between dimensions, from 3rd to 4th and into 5th, that might be why most people do not hear it or are not paying any notice to it. It is there and very real, every night, but what it is, i can't tell you. if you are in LA listen for it tonight, it is a low pitch, loud rumbling sound. let me know if you hear it, it will be there. Underground tunneling. |
