As dramatic stories about the valiant efforts of "The Fukushima Fifty" who are on an apparent suicide mission to save as many their fellow Japanese as possible, why is the international media not showing the full power of Monday's mushroom cloud-like explosion of Fukushima Daiichi Reactor # 3?

Why is the Corporate Media not telling us that Reactor 3 was powered by MOX a Mixed Oxide combination of Plutonium, and Uranium that is far more radioactive than normal Uranium Fuel used in most nuclear reactors?

And why is the media suppressing key information that literally thousands of used, but not fully depleted nuclear power rods from perhaps the last 39 years were still being stored in the upper portion of "Shut Down" Reactor 4, and perhaps at other Fukushima Daiichi Reactors?

Perhaps the reason is because the powers that be in the media simply don't believe that we can handle the truth.

And the truth is that the owner of CNN is on the record that he would like to see the earth's human population to be reduced to under 500 million people!

i voted yes after thinking about it carefully - given the sheer amount of fuel, and how out of control things are and attempts to control it which are quite frankly desperate. many on here probably arent truly believing it yet because its not touching on their lives yet. i think the world changed on Saturday and we are in a new chapter.

Yes. I think Scandinavia will be affected. My religious grandmother with her relatives told prophecies in 1970s, which told that nuclear waste will cover Finland and some areas will be inhabitable and lakes will come radioactive.

Also crashing of Japan will crash the world economy. When we also have passed oil peak (in 2008), and remaining food sources will come radiactive, we will have a World War III. I have no doubt it will.
I remember Chernobyl, and how the radioactivity circled the World at least 9 times, dusting us all with radiation.
I have seen the physical changes it caused to the planet, our seasons, the skyrocketing cancer and autism rates the past 20 years.
It is a slow killer...but kill it does.
We didn't even get as much here as Europe got...but still it has been enough to make all those changes.

With the situation in Japan involving so many reactors, and so much spent fuel that was stored there...common sense tells ya it is at least going to end up 7 times worse than Chernobyl.

I was thinking on this today, why more people under 40 aren't alarmed about what is happening in Japan, with the reactors.
I had the thought, it's because they weren't aware , or some of them, even born when Chernobyl happened.
They have also grown up watching Homer Simpson, and that glowing chunk he totes out of the reactor in his back pocket, goes bouncing around town...it has made them 'complacent' to the dangers of Radioactivity.
They have no fear of it, because they have seen Homer , their whole lives, and it never made him or anyone else in town sick.
Their lack of concern is un-nerving...they have no idea just how deadly this stuff is.. :(

Do you know how many nuclear plants that you have right in your area? There are 5. Are any near fault lines?

While your state seems not to have any of the GE plants, there are 23 of theirs operating in America. How will you be affected if any of them "blow"

Are you kidding? It's ALREADY changed peoples lives, and it's not even HERE yet.

At the absolute minimum, this is going to adversely affect the food supply.

After Chernobyl, many veggies were pulled up and thrown away, milk from cows who ate radioactive grass was poured out.

The food supply is already stretched to the breaking point with multiple natural disasters. This could be the final straw.

Japan is going to have an increased need for food due to the EQ/tsunami/radiation issue.

If any radiation hits farmland in CA, the problem becomes exponentially worse.
