Actually, that's exactly what most people have been led to believe. A figurehead leader in the top ranks of any world government is not where any Illuminati will be found. Any household names are fronts and most likely, pawns and red herrings.

The hierarchy of the Illuminati does not have a single ruler at it's top seat - it's a bit more complex than that. Contemplate the phrase, "King for a day," and it might give you some insight. Also, don't think of a King as, necessarily, male nor even, a single person.

Illuminati is not even the correct name for them but humans seem to have a need to label everything, which, is one reason Illuminati are able to hide in plain sight. Although, an actual 1700's group did exist (Bavarian Illuminati) and other groups and creatives used variations of the Illuminati name, the term, "Illuminati," is more of a pop culture adoption.

Like a magician waving his hands, the emergence of various Illuminati groups and the weaving of conspiracies and imaginative tales, have, merely, been organized misdirections.
