Oil. Japan will limit the demand since industrial infrastructure is currently down.

Shipping. Japan is an ISLAND, the major transportation for exported goods rellies on shipping since is the cheaper way.
No products for export, no fairs for the shipping industry.

Diesel fuel. Shipping tankers use diesel as fuel. Less runs then less demand for diesel fuel.

Electronics and hight tech industry. Many basic components for electronic equipment and the high tech industry are manufacture only in Japan.

Cars. Many basic components for auto industry and japanese brands are manufactured only in Japan.

Now stock markets are still fine showing no problem, while when the PIIGS crisis hit wall Street everyone was panicking running around like headless chickens.

How do you decontaminate an aircraft carrier?

If the ship has become contaminated, they have every right (and a duty to their citizens) to reject it and not allow it to doc. If the ship needs supplies, these can be brought out to it in a harbor using tenders and crane equipped vessels to do so. So in terms of fuel and provisions - sell them whatever they need of course. If there are people on board in desperate need of medical treatment, by all means take them ashore and treat them in your best facilities. But if the ship's hull itself is the problem and has picked up excessive amounts of radiation - then I have no problem with any country saying "no" to them in terms of docking it!

That is of big concern to me because China or NK could use a cargo vessel that has been taineted with radiation to mask some onboard short range nukes.
