Mark from Pittsburgh, PA P.S. - Will the ice be radioactive here in Pittsburgh when our Pens win the finals? While it's not at a level that will kill you if you drink it now you must remember that radio active materials are accumulative. IF they don't get that Fukushima under control it will release MORE into the atmosphere, rain it down and radio activity will increase. Then you will have a situation for sure. Not all radio activity dissipates in 72 hours. Some isotopes have a half life of 22,000 yrs! I'd like to hear what the EPA has to say about water in the West Coast. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1309405 United States 03/29/2011 10:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wait, didn't that Pennsylvania groundhog predict 6 more weeks of nuclear winter? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 922302LOL I don't know about the nuclear winter but he did predict spring would come early. And for a while it did. But now the northeast is getting snow again this week so I think he (and the whole Farmer's Almanac methods that his predictions are actually based on) are dubious. |

Drinking water is from the tap in asuming, I have yet to actually see people smackin their face in the lake for a drink of water. West of Philly was 90-100, when the allowed amount is freak 3 Take precaustions of not, its your health I know Im not drinkin the shit, till i get reading from my tap water, and thats that. Not to mention, allllllllllllllll, in the thousands of fish that were in the lake dead last week, with many dead rabbits and ducks and turtels, but they said it was from the lack of food.. the Duck eat the fish, the tutles eat the fish, and the rabbits eatttttt, the vegitation? OP did not read the article correctly and we freaked seeing the title. But you're saying you actually BELIEVE what the government is telling you? When have they ever told the truth about anything? To translate what they said: "It's just the rainwater" - It is DEFINITELY in the tap water then. "You would have to drink it for 70 years" - Wow, that's really downplaying it...maybe more like 70 days, if that. Seriously...this is just more of the government downplaying things. You should know by now, the truth is always the opposite of what they say...that's just common sense. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 668442 United States 03/29/2011 10:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes, the issue is that my local water authority pulls their water from the river, which is rainwater. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 668442And I am in PA, and one of the locales tested was Pittsburgh, according to the article. I e-mailed Marty Griffin at KDKA with this PA portal new release from the governors office and I am hoping he will investigate whether our local water authorities are actually monitoring the water after filtration for radioactive levels. I don't have high hopes in this regard- although MArty does have a pretty big set..... |
