Anonymous Coward User ID: 1328132 Australia 04/08/2011 12:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | How can you tell if someone is BPD? What are the signs when you first meet them? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1029592Yes, what are the signs? First it's --- Then -- Then - It's NOT ME!!! It's YOU!!!!!!!!! Then -- Then --- Then -- Then - It's NOT ME!!! It's YOU!!!!!!!!! Then -- Then -- you get it ? I'm a woman and this is every woman on the planet. It's a monthly cycle. If you are experiencing extreme cycles of crazy from your woman it probably means that she is having an actual reaction to birth control. Those things make women nuts to the point where they stop recognizing their own crazy especially if they have been on them a long time. Most healthy women who are not on birth control are aware when when the normal level cranky and moodiness is setting in and can usually mitigate the effects or at least give you a heads up. Women taking birth control can't recognize it and it becomes worse with the length of time taking them. I am a firm believer that birth control pills have caused more that a few divorces. Poor fellows haven't a clue what hit them and the women don't know what happened either. Maybe. But as a woman also, I can honestly say, this isn't me, or any other female I know. Other than a few apeshit moments when I get spurts of energy and jump all over everyone, usually to tickle, I am very stable. I think this has a lot to do with upbringing. I remember going to school with girls who acted like retarded baby dolls because it got them attention... I wonder what happen to them when they grew up? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 717934 United States 04/08/2011 12:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Plenty of those to go around these days. Seems every girl I meet and date is like that. And what's with wanting to have sex on the first date? I mean, seriously, can we get to know each other a little better first BEFORE? It's screwed up honestly, and then when I politely decline because I really want to get to know this person better she thinks that I have no interest in her and then won't talk to me. Her I am, trying to be a gentleman, to do the right thing and not let jumping into bed screw up what could be good relationship and I get ignored for it?! Quoting: ArchaicSEAL 873894It's unbelievable. Worst part is that it happens even when I would date girls from a church I used to go to. Here are supposed Christian women who want to bump right after the first or second date. I just have to shake my head in wonder and sometimes even go the "lolwut?!" route. I hear ya, you're a strong man for not giving in. They get their hooks in you with the sex and that's how they wind up calling the shots and usurping your male authority. It's got to be on YOUR terms when she gets to sleep with you, or you're cooked... |

But taking all of those hormones is not natural. It's bound to wreak havoc on their bodies and minds. How do you explain the exact same syndrome in men, then? If you join a support group, the other folks will let you know right quick if they don't think you're really dealing with a BPD partner. It's almost as if there's a shredders' manual out there with checklists... so, it's a pretty well-defined personality disorder. Timewarlord User ID: 1224426 Australia 04/16/2011 10:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sometimes I wonder if BPD isn't the work of the devil, my sister would have 'fits' where she would blaspheme, self harm, scream in unintelligible languages, deny Christ, roll her eyes into her head so they appeared white, punch through walls and much more. As a toddler she began speaking in African and claiming she was from a tribe. She spoke African better then she did English. Annoyingly they often know their effect on people but continue to do it anyway or embrace and revel in their manipulative ways. It was especially bad for me as a child from before birth she encouraged my Mum to get an abortion because she wanted to stay the only child and not share attention her truly destructive behavior began when I was born, she began self harming and homosexual relationships, I believe it was attention seeking jealousy. Growing up I had some special needs and learning difficulties and she would always being to act out when Mum and Dad needed to help me I couldn't count the times I was taken to hospital to say goodbye to her because she was dying and the doctors didn't expect her to last the night after a suicide attempt. It's mostly settled down these days because we are both adults who don't live at home and furthermore I am not close to my parents so she revels in the solitary attention. "Attitudes truly are contagious. So ask yourself one question… Is mine worth catching?" |

A BPD man will hit you with an open hand or twist your fingers or wrist, or some such... but, a BPD woman will pick up a weapon like a lamp or an ashtray or a gun. Chris User ID: 30329308 United States 12/19/2012 01:23 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you suspect your new friend might be borderline. Investigate/read about it. If you come to the conclusion. Don't be stupid and think we can overcome this or lets go to couseling run. You don't know what you're dealing with. The person isn't evil just like a lion isn't evil but if you find yourself in a lions cage get out. A boderline will ruin your life. I am the shell of the man I use to be. You have a very hard time getting your head on right again. It's so unreal and you can never sort it out and make sense of it. Most people don't hook up with a Borderline they know something isn't right. Borerlines hook up with caregivers and away you go. You're trying to fix the unfixable. Each day they chisel a little more from your soul until you are a shell. Then they spit you out. Recover some and they'll take you back and spit you out again. If you've never been entangled with one this probably makes little sense if you have you know what I'm talking about. Run and don't look back. Nobody is strong enough to survive a borderline. I don't care how together and good your life is they will ruin it and the world will never see it. The world will see you as screwed up. You can't even begin to explain what is happening. So when you try you even sound nuts to yourself. I say run and try to heal. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 17431247 United States 12/19/2012 01:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | BPD is something unaccountable men come up with to explain why the woman they are/were with went crazy on them. Just ask yourself, does she act that way with other people in her life or just YOU? Maybe you don't communicate or connect well with women, and some women don't mind that too much but some are too sensitive and keep trying to get that emotional connection instead of accepting it will never be there, and they end up going nuts trying to change the man. I had a guy once claim I was BPD but I am not at all. I am a good hearted person who has helped a lot of people in my lifetime, I would never intentionally hurt someone or set out to make their lives hell, but if YOU hurt me, I never forget it and the relationship is usually irreparable. Doesn't mean I haven't tried against all odds to repair it, that has always been how I work, but I learned my lessons now. I am just better off single. I don't understand men and I have never met one who really wanted that deeper connection nor one who was completely honest - a trait which I now demand in men, which is why I am single lol. Can't find it out there. This is not to hate on all men or anything, women are no angels either. I just really think some men have a REAL problem taking responsibility for their part in failed relationships and it's easier for them just to label women with these labels. I believe sociopaths exist in both genders are easy enough to spot. You know when someone doesn't truly care about your pain. I never stick around once I realize that, and you can realize it pretty quickly, but I suppose some people are gluttons for punishment and stay with someone who really only feels for themselves. |

BPD comes from childhood abuse and the constant fear of abandonment. they struggle with emotions and can one minute be full of love and joy and the next full of anger. on the inside, they are actually very warm, caring individuals but don't feel that they qualify for the love or appreciation an intimate relationship can give. instead of advising people to run as fast as they can, maybe we can actually try and increase awareness of the truth of the condition. dialectic behavioural therapy has been shown to very effectively combat the disorder and many individuals actually do recover. it is easier to treat BPD than better known conditions like bipolar. |
