TT2, I have given a lot of thought to the videos you posted from Astral Traveler and look forward to Nerd, Shad, Dettro and others discussing. Agree on the Planet X language, if that were dropped and renamed it would open up a lot more people to watch. The level of data included in the videos makes it a learning experience if nothing else!

HAARP's site is down but you can still access information from other sources. Magnetometers in Canada and from the USGS are still up. Finland has their working too. The GOES +/- flux are keeping an eye on particles. I also think you can access the ionosonde data directly from Lowell.

2013 Super Moon
The Full Strawberry Moon that falls on Sunday, June 23, is the closest and largest full Moon of the year.
Some refer to this phenomenon as a “SuperMoon.”
Each full Moon has its own name. Here’s a list.
This full Moon is at “perigee,” which is the point in the Moon’s orbit that is closest to Earth. This is the closest encounter with Earth for all of 2013, and perigee won’t happen again until August 2014.
The Moon turns full at 7:32 A.M. Eastern time. See your local full Moon time.
If you live near a coast, with the perigee full Moon you will experience higher-than-usual tides, especially if windy weather is in the forecast.

Spring Tides & Neap Tides
The following is a explanation of spring and neap tides in relation to lunar and solar cycles.

Since antiquity, people have noticed that oceans exhibit a much greater tidal range around the time of the full Moon and new Moon. This is when the Moon and Sun are either together in the sky or are on opposite sides of the heavens. Higher tides occur during these Moon phases because the Sun also exerts a gravitational pull on our oceans, although it is only 46 percent as strong as the Moon's.

When the gravitational effects of the Sun and the Moon combine, we get spring tides, which have nothing to do with the season of spring. The term refers to the action of the seas springing out and then springing back. These are times of high high tides and low low tides.

A week later, during either of the two quarter Moon phases, when the Sun and Moon are at right angles to each other and their tidal influences partially cancel each other out, neap tides occur, and the tidal range is minimal. In fact, because the oceans take a bit of time to catch up to the geometry of the Moon, spring and neap tides usually occur about a day after the respective lunar cycles.

Cloud Watching 102: The Rarest Clouds
They’re back! Noctilucent clouds, the rarest, newest and most mysterious of clouds have begun.

These are clouds from outer space, formed by meteor dust. These electric blue clouds are only seen in summer and they have returned to our skies. Indeed, they arrived on May 13, the earliest onset on record!

Unfiltered fan ran for three days after radiation leak

A ventilation fan with no filters was used for three days after a radiation leak at an atomic research laboratory in Tokai, Ibaraki Prefecture, the lab’s operators said Tuesday.

This means that radioactive substances may have continued to escape from the facility after the operators reported the leak to regulators on the night of May 24.

The radiation leak occurred around 11:55 a.m. May 23 at the Japan Proton Accelerator Complex (J-PARC).

The fan started around 5:30 p.m. May 23 to reduce radiation levels inside the complex and continued running until 11 a.m. May 26, according to the operators, the Japan Atomic Energy Agency and the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization.

Yujiro Ikeda of J-PARC said that an order to stop the fan failed to reach officials at the complex.

The fan was also used for about 15 minutes starting at 3:15 p.m. May 23

Scientists see heightened activity on far side of the Sun

June 18, 2013 – SPACE – Meanwhile on the farside of the sun, an un-numbered active region is seething with activity, and appears capable of significant eruptions. NASA’s STEREO-Behind spacecraft is stationed over the sun’s east limb with a good view of the hot spot (circled): During the early hours of June 18th, a long-duration flare from this active region hurled a coronal mass ejection (CME) over the sun’s eastern limb. However, none of the rocky planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars) were in the line of fire. In a few days, the sun’s rotation will carry the active region around the eastern limb and onto the Earth-side of the sun. Then we will have a direct view of the underlying sunspot group and be able to better assess its potential for future flares. Stay tuned! –Space Weather

Strong 5.8 earthquake sways buildings in Mexico City
June 18, 2013 – MEXICO – A powerful two-punch earthquake shook western Mexico early Sunday, knocking out electricity and cellular phone service in parts of this sprawling capital. There were no immediate reports of serious damage or fatalities. Initial readings put the quake at a magnitude of 5.8 at around 12:30 a.m., with the epicenter about 90 miles south of Mexico City in the northern part of Guerrero state, where Acapulco is located. It was felt with marked strength in Mexico City, swaying major apartment buildings, hotels and skyscrapers. Residents scooted from their homes, some in pajamas, or filed out of late-night bars and restaurants. Many remained in the streets long after the quake ended, bracing for aftershocks. The shaking began gently, paused, then gave a good rattling to buildings in much of the capital. Mexico City Mayor Miguel Angel Mancera, whose inspectors immediately took to flight in helicopters and fanned out through city streets, said there were no reports of serious damage but that several neighborhoods were without electricity. Interior Minister Miguel Angel Osorio Chong also said there were no reports of damage at the national level. Mexico is accustomed to such quakes, and a fairly strict system of checks and controls whips into place at the first sign of serious shaking. Gas pipeline rupture sparks major blast outside New Orleans
Eyewitnesses told local WWLTV the explosion occurred around 5:30 a.m. local time. Residents reported seeing a bright orange light in the sky and have noticed a strange odor in the area.

Residents within a one mile radius of the Florida gas facility were evacuated. The incident reportedly knocked out power to some 10,000 residents, though officials say it was mostly restored by 7:00 a.m.

On Thursday, an explosion at a chemical plant in Geismar, Louisiana killed two and injured up to 100 more. The US Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is currently investigating the cause of that blast. However, according to a report by Think Progress, OSHA had not inspected the petrochemical plant since 1993.

The following day, a second blast rocked a chemical plant in Donaldsonville, Louisiana killing one and injuring eight others. The explosion was blamed on a ruptured nitrogen vessel.

The eruption continues. A lava flow is being erupted from the central intra-caldera cone, recent satellite images suggest as they show very high elevated surface temperatures in this area. Veniaminof volcano (Alaska Peninsula, USA) activity update
The eruption continues at low levels. Recent satellite images show very high elevated surface temperatures at the intracaldera cinder cone consistent with continued effusion of lava. No plumes have been observed in satellite images nor reported by pilots or local observers.

On June 19th, Jupiter will pass directly behind the solar disk, less than a quarter of a degree from disk center. It's a rare total eclipse of Jupiter by the sun. Because of the glare, the event is invisible to human eyes. Coronagraphs, however, block the glare and monitor Jupiter's approach. Join SOHO and SDO for a ringside seat. Also notice the CME emerging off the southeastern limb. The CME was associated with a C2.4-flare from a new active region still yet to emerge from behind the eastern limb.

Large explosions rock an ammunition depot in Russia’s Samara Region, where over 13 million shells are stored. The police have started evacuation of the nearby communities.

Multiple artillery shells keep exploding at an ammunition depot near the city of Chapaevsk, a local police spokesman told RIA.

“It is still not possible to halt the self-destruction, or to enter the firing grounds,” he added, saying that the shell shards are scattering in such a large area that there is no way the fire brigade could reach and extinguish the fire.

The black Forest fire has now claimed 502 homes. They are going to be moving into an area that has been too hot to check and expect that number to rise. Sad thing is, several of the families that were burned out, had family members still living with them because they were burned out last year!!! I know of at least 3 stories like this. Now how devastating is that one!!!!

Some on GLP were saying, good, burn out the rich! Well, yes there are some well off homes in this area and most have been there since they first got married 50 years ago. Other areas are lower middle class. These people have lost everything. Just heart breaking!!

Crazy weather. Was just out working on my garden and the tornado sirens went off. Had to go in a check as I had just looked as we are under severe weather possibilities and the sky south east of me was just black. That cell blew up out of no where!!!

Now there are cells popping up all over the place so it could be an interesting evening.

They are popping up like crazy, last night was out in my garden no chance for rain, out of nowhere a cell blew up and we got 1.25" in about 45 minutes, crazy weather patterns. The meteorologists are having a tough time forecasting 6 hours ahead much less days.
