"As wind in dry grass" is the average GLP'ers wet dream book. Its new and almost unknown and only because it was not published by a major publisher as it should end up as an American Classic and that's saying a lot.

Its about the aftermath of the collapse of America. It is full of colorful characters who at least reference Just about every major topic discussed at any conspiracy site. The main character should take his place amongst the greats of American literature.

It is dark brutal and intense in a completely realistic setting. You won't be dissappointed

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm going to read Dry Grass. ..I hope it is exciting. I like a lot of adventure...

I have ordered "The Rising" (someone else's suggestion) from the library, should have it by tomorrow. I will see if they have this one.

Just went to amazon and read all six reviews of dry grass... holy moly, I'm about afraid to read it now. That last reviewer called it "depraved."

Have you read armageddon's Children and did you like it ? I liked it so do you think I would like grass ?

Yes, as wind indry grass is brutal, but is exactly what you would think would happen it an economic collapse and subsequent "invasion" by UN troops. It wasn't a lot more brutal than one second..

.why many people may find it offensive is its lack of PCness and what appears at first to be some racism, but the writer just has some characters who are racist as would be the case in any rural setting. He is not condoning it, the main character, a white guy, has only loved one woman and she was black so.....

"One Second After"...gives excellent "play by play" of how long it will take for every aspect of society to break down and I used to live in Black Mountain, NC so the visual of the locations in the book brought it a little closer to home.

The Bible...say what you want but if you REALLY want to know the sequence of events and some inside glimpse of how it will all go down, the Bible's prophecies are 100% accurate. You want "Zombies", it's in there ("And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them." Revelation 9:6)

You want to know why everyone is having dreams of future catastrophic events? It's in there! ("And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams." Acts 2:17)

You want alien abductions, it's even in there ("...They shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay." Daniel 2:43)

The Bible even gives you the only way to be protected from all that is coming and not be fearful. It's like a book that reveals all the winning lottery numbers. Who wouldn't want to read THAT book?

I dont agree.. The Bible does not say crap about whats going on now.. every 100 years some moron says this.. give me a break

Just finished Cannibal Reign by Thomas Koloniar

It was Freaking Awesome!

"First the asteroid would come, slamming into the earth just north of the Montana border, followed by earthquakes, tsunamis, and unending night.

And after that . . . Hell.

Astronomer Marty Chittenden is the first to recognize the approaching doom—a discovery that makes him a marked man.

Green Beret Jack Forrest knows the catastrophe is inevitable, and begins stockpiling an abandoned missile silo with supplies while gathering together a small community of men, women, and children he prays can survive the apocalypse.

Then disaster strikes. In an instant the world they know ends forever, transformed into a nightmare realm of eternal darkness. Soon the few remaining humans are transformed as well, becoming savage things—raping, pillaging, and devouring their own."

That's an old book I have. I read it when it came out. i have read so many I get them confused.

That's the one where the monkeys got loose from the lab somewhere in New England...Ebola...blood pouring from every orifice, and africa ?

I won 't read those kinds of books anymore.

Ebola doom! As predicted!

Seriously though, "Lucifer's hammer" is my favorite doom novel so far. Great novel. And this is a great thread. Glad I looked it up.
