Anyone who has read "origin of species" will know that it is only vaguely scientific, with a few speculative arguments about bird's beaks culminating in and unsupported theory which is a quantum leap in scientific terms.
birds with short beaks evolve into birds with long beaks, therefore tapirs evolve into elephants.
Thats nice, it means that we can bonk the fresh(wo)men and not feel guilty, we'll have that!

Personally I doubt that finches are such accomplished molecular biologists, or that the little bird brains even know their cells are constructed by genetic codes to begin with. I'm thinking the real scientist is God who gave them different beaks so they eat different things and coexist in peace, like the rest of bird species. That must really sound stupid to the evos.
