Was your question why play God? Let's say you eliminate the top 5% of power holders in the world. All elites at the top - GONE. You have total freedom and liberty. again ~ I'm not the person you were responding to here. I agree with you on this. I have learned the hard way that you can't fix or even help by being nice to someone's evil. That may sometimes be necessary as a temporary measure to keep one's own self safe (from the evil person), but in the long run, it solves nothing.

Especially when dealing with a psychopath, or sociopath, or someone with narcissistic personality disorder .... kindness and compliance only feed their madness and may lead to them being more cruel. Do it as temporary measure when necessary to stay alive, or blend ~ if you're not yet ready to stand out.

But, in the long run, do you run and hide . . . or sit and blend . . . ? Or do you step forward, make a stand, and do what is necessary to change things . . . ?

The problem with this model is that not everyone is a psychopath, or sociopath, or someone with narcissistic personality disorder ... and not everyone are stupid sheep following evil orders or plans. All who fall in that category may need a particular future to teach them things . . . or change them in ways they may not have been otherwise.

But should everybody have that future . . . ? I don't think so.

btw I am the one who asked you about ritual to get an ex husband to go away. He is in the above mentioned category . ... someone who seems to have no conscience, no remorse, and lies better than most people tell the truth (I've realized he must do this by first believing his own lies.)He fools everybody. He fooled me long enough to marry me and impregnate me. He will never ever fool me again, but because we have a child, I have to continue dealing with him. He goes away for periods of time, but then always comes back around making trouble. He can be obsessive and cruel and calculating. The few who know his true self run from him, including our child. The other people he fools. He completely lacks empathy. I've never personally known anybody like him. Prior to that, I was naive and would have thought love and kindness can fix anything. Now I've truly awoken to the dualism that people speak of, and I understand what you are saying.

I'd *guess* it's 10-40% effective in certain disorders whereas placebo is about 5-20% effective. It's a supplement. Think of it like the 10% ethanol in gasoline. It doesn't harm the environment (your body) as badly, doesn't pollute (your body with toxins), and is more natural.

For the AC with the non empathetic ex husband-- I'm sure you have heard of this but in case you haven't he sounds like a "Narcissist" or has
narcissistic personality disorder

This comes as a result of deep seated insecurity and they suffer the need for grandness and approval at all costs to everyone around them. They don't have the ability to see anyone elses needs except their own and they can't be cured with therapy. In fact therapy can make them worse. They can't tolerate criticism and can be very dangerous.

There are lots of books, web-sites and information on the web on the subject and support groups for those who have to deal with such individuals. They give advice on how to manage your interactions with them.

It is not your ex-husbands fault he is this way, somehow he was damaged in his formative years--one way can be parents demanding that the love they feel for their children is performance based.

I think as your child grows it would be important to get her some counseling to help her process the fact that she is not to blame for this and she can't do anything to change him.

Narcissists are 75% male, and many men in positions of power have this condition. Power, control and adoration are what they crave, but it never is enough and the pain never goes away.

People who are honest can easily be blindsided by these narcissists as people tend to assume that others think like they do.

I was never super-attracted to him; I just thought he was nice, reliable, consistent, etc. He persistently pursued me and was nice to me, seemed safe. It was after I was married and with child that a completely different side of him came out . . . cruel, abusive . . . seeming to completely lack a conscience or a soul ~ or at least having only a rudimentary beginner's model.

I didn't know because he has learned somewhere along the way to completely fake these things and fool everybody. He is not extremely intelligent but he studies and obsesses to say the right words in any situation to anybody regardless of if they are lies. He says them convincingly as if they are truth. He fools everybody with his lies and persona that is not the real him at all. He seems almost mostly empty inside. It is as if a parasite inhabits a human body and walks around appearing human and saying the right things, but once he acquires prey, he locks on as long as he can, and it's feeding time.

I have never known anyone like him before or since, and only want him AWAY.

Right before I left him (years ago), I did find the stuff on narcissistic personality disorder and thought, Oh wow ~ this explains so much! My compassion and empathy (which have been some of my greatest gifts my whole life) he just ate up and used against me. I don't know if it's npd or sociopath, but I have seen elements of both that fit him.

He LOVES counseling and has done years of it because it makes him feel special to go talk about himself, even though he is telling them lies. He even went to AA for a while and was actually chairing meetings while he was going off on drinking binges on the side. He wasn't even required to go to meetings, yet he was not only going ~ he was leading meetings and lying.

After not being around much for a while,he came around now with a bunch of lies filing for custody. He started his process of fooling people again ~with the courts ~ (Ah yes, he was abusive before, but he's a changed man . . . and all that bullshit. They don't know what I know ~that he never changes, that the second they walk away, he's already talking to our child like shit; they come back around, and he's acting all nice and loving and concerned.)

Fortunately the counselor who is seeing us all has taken kindly to my child and me and has interceded on our behalf to get my ex to quit having visits for a few weeks as his coming back around has caused our child to regress so much, almost unrecognizable, and he goes into panic fight or flight, trying to frantically run from his dad. My child really likes the counselor and is already doing better with not seeing his dad. He has other positive male role models in his life,and I really wish my ex would just go away, as it always ends up really badly when he comes back around.

You are right, they love attention and talking about themselves--marriage counseling would have made things worse, or therapy where the therapist was seeing the "real" person and calling them out on their lies. Glad to hear you have an advocate for yourself and child. Keep vigilant it is a battle.

Every 4 years, like the Olympics, all the leading minds (regardless of country or situation) should gather for 1 month and exchange ideas on everything except military technology. They would have to gather online or in different cities; because for security reasons - losing these ppl by having them ALL gathered would set back the world a generation. Agriculture, human sciences, biology, chemistry, earth sciences, language & literature, environment sciences, history, mathematics, psychology, political science, sociology, economics, learning/teaching methods, music theory, art, philosophy, and all branches of engineering are good groups with which to start. Olympics are fun and all but leave little lasting impact on society. . . aside from memories of pretty bodies running around half naked.
