No unless said trespasser is trying to kill you. But even then you could end up behind bars in some states.

An old lady got sued by someone who tried to rob her because her roof was covered in snow and the theif fell and sipped into her pool. She almost got put in jail and was charged 10k I think. This is because most states have a law that says you cant shot someone stealing your proporty.. If someone was to break into your house and yell out im just here to take your TV and leave, you can not kill that person. You will be charged. They have to be threating YOUR life or people in your houses LIFE. Just the way laws read. Do your research on what the laws are for defending house, proporty and life. Dude if someone broke into my house I dont give a fuck what there intent is there gonna be killed case closed if I got to ill sprinkle a little crack on them.
