Quoting: Once4AllMar 3:2 Since it was the Sabbath, Jesus' enemies watched him closely. If he healed the man's hand, they planned to accuse him of working on the Sabbath. Mar 3:3 Jesus said to the man with the deformed hand, "Come and stand in front of everyone." Mar 3:4 Then he turned to his critics and asked, "Does the law permit good deeds on the Sabbath, or is it a day for doing evil? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?" But they wouldn't answer him. Mar 3:5 He looked around at them angrily and was deeply saddened by their hard hearts. Then he said to the man, "Hold out your hand." So the man held out his hand, and it was restored! Mar 3:6 At once the Pharisees went away and met with the supporters of Herod to plot how to kill Jesus. |

I would like to emphasize this scripture in OP's post: Mar 8:33 Jesus turned around and looked at his disciples, then reprimanded Peter. "Get away from me, Satan!" he said. "You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God's." How can this be? Jesus in His resurrected body told Peter to feed His sheep before He went to sit on the right hand of the Father in heaven. The message here is to always guard your heart and believe whatever the Lord says. Peter took the Lord aside and reprimanded Him because he knew there is no reason that the Lord should die. That was true because Jesus was without sin, but Peter did not know God's plan. There is no doubt Peter loved Jesus, but he forgot who he was talking to (like some of us do in prayer). Peter let Satan tempt him to challenge Jesus and Peter in his zeal gave into the temptation. Guard your heart, always. Amen. |

Shall I paste all the references, Old and New Testament which prepare us for the gift of God himself, Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior, humbly present, wishing to come to us,to be in us. His plan, in the Holy Eucharist? There must be a 100 and more Scriptural verses. It's so beautiful. Amen, Amen, Amen. I agree with OP in that there is no value in quarreling over this. My approach is to post the Holy Scripture with brief commentary. Let the Lord whisper to people in love through His Word. Thank you very much Peterson for showing us how a mature Christian behaves. I shared what i would like to talk about and why and you have respected that. You have shown us the humility of Jesus Christ! We as Christians are not here to judge anyone. I tremble at the thought of having to stand before the Lord and explain to Him why I accused someone created in His image and likeness of anything. We must remember that God is independent of time. We can plant the seeds of scripture here through His Word. He will take care of the rest, either through others or as He sees fit. This discussion has special meaning for me. Two days ago I posted some of John chapter 6 with my commentary to a protestant friend and he told me to never email him again. Jesus lost many disciples over this, and He asked the 12 apostles if they wanted to leave Him too. This was a serious question. The bottom line is that this teaching was as hard to take then as it is now. I have great faith in the Lord. We plant the seeds, and He will take everyone who truly believes in Him home with Him. And that includes all the non-Catholics here now. Remember, the Lord sees the end from the beginning. We can see only the past and the here and now. I am praying not only for these disciples (His 12 apostles) but also for all who will ever believe in Me because of their testimony. My prayer for all of them is that they will be one, just as You and I are one. Father--that just as You are in Me and I am in You, so they will be in Us, and the world will believe You sent Me. I have given them the glory you gave Me, so that they may be one, as We are--in them and You in Me, all being perfected into one. Then the world will know that You sent Me and will understand that You love them as much as You love Me. Father, I want these whom you've given Me to be with Me, so they can see my glory. You gave Me the glory because You loved Me even before the world began. O righteous Father, the world doesn't know You, but I do; and these disciples know You sent Me. And I have revealed You to them and will keep revealing You. I will do this so that Your love for Me may be in them and I in them. Johm 17: 20-26 |

You have spent a considerable amount of time on this thread promoting the idea of self, while others have spent time promoting Jesus. I am convinced in my mind Jesus Christ is worthy. I am content to promote not myself, but him. So we all promote the things we see as beneficial to the soul. For you, it is self. For me it is Jesus. Let every man be convinced in his own mind who is worthy of promotion. peace to you, Nothing in our history compares to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
