Kids Lemonade Stand At U.S. Open Fined $500 And Shut Down
You can make a fortune selling parking spots outside the US Open, but don't even dream of setting up a lemonade stand.

A county inspector ordered the Marriott and Augustine kids to shut down the stand they set up on Persimmon Tree Rd, right next to Congressional. And after they allegedly ignored a couple of warnings, the inspector fined their parents $500.

"This gentleman from the county is now telling us because we don't have a vendors license, the kids won't be allowed to sell their lemonade," Carrie Marriott told us, her voice trembling.

The kids can't seem to understand it. "I don't agree, I think the county is wrong." "We're sending the money to charity."

The county wasn't making their cut off the little kids lemonade sales. So they fined them and got their money that way.

Regulations cost the US economy a TRILLION dollars a year. That is about as much as the Iraq and Afghan wars have cost us for ten years.

A bunch of businesses don't even begin because they can't afford to cut through all the red tape and BS government puts in the way.

Excellent news, if You dont have vendors license then yall most likely do not have food service cards, which means none of Yall know how to properly serve food and beverage without making people sick.

Kudo's for the Police and $500 fine.

Let the Food service workers who pay to go to food service classes and are trained in Hygene and the business owners who pay for all of the vending permits and business license do all of the vending.

As far as Charity, You probably not even a "Charatable Entity. so who knows where that money is going.... just saying

I can say this because I was a "Legal Restauntuer" with a 5 location chain and I paid all of my fee's and permits and inspections and all of my food service workers where well trained.

Our donations to charity were listed in our "Corporate Financials" as well.

Apparently they were makin a nice amount of money.

"Cute little kids making five or ten dollars is a little bit different than making hundreds. You've got coolers and coolers here," the inspector responded. "To raise money for pediatric cancer," Marriott replied.

Marriott is the mother

This is a NON-STORY.

The mother is setting a BAD example for the kids. She's telling them they should not have to follow the law. And she's whining like these parents who somehow believe they and their precious kids are entitled to special treatment, above the law.

They were required to get a vendors license, whether you or they think that's right or wrong, and they did NOT follow the law.

They got fined.

If they really oppose it, try to get the law changed.

But this is really not a story of any significance.

You are fucking delusional.

Taking some dumb ass online "food safety" test doesn't do shit to improve food safety. Employers and managers watching their employees so the business doesn't get a bad rep keeps your food relatively safe.

I agree with the above post. Having worked in the food industry before, I know how much that "training" means. I know how often people sanitize their hands before making your food (1%). Maybe you run things differently, dunnbass.

I guess it is an epidemic, kids selling lemonade, as there are so many reports of people getting sick after drinking a cup. /sarcasm

The fact is the parent was told to shut it down and they weren't in commence. How many times, I don't know, but the article said many. She failed to set an example and ignored repeated requests. The fine seems to be more for being an idiot than for selling lemonade.

I've gotten cards to serve both food and alcohol - it is pretty stupid shit and definitely doesn't make anyone safer. People spit in your food, drop it on the food and do all sorts of stupid shit even with the cards the government gave them.

The only thing it does is make ignorant people feel a little better about eating out.

Re: Kids Lemonade Stand At U.S. Open Fined $500 And Shut Down
The fact is the parent was told to shut it down and they weren't in commence. How many times, I don't know, but the article said many. She failed to set an example and ignored repeated requests. The fine seems to be more for being an idiot than for selling lemonade.

Re: Kids Lemonade Stand At U.S. Open Fined $500 And Shut Down
This is a NON-STORY.

I disagree this story shows just how bad our country has become the mother is not setting a bad example she is teaching her children the value of work, charity. A vendor's license more fee's to the state from children that's just insane it is not as if they are doing this to earn a living and just because there is a law doesn't make it right it's unjust, this has gone on for generations. People used to be free not anymore and it's attitudes like yours that allows them to impose more and more control.
