Instance, it seems you never gave it good thought. You only have listened to 50 years of oil propaganda.
That is the exact reason why carbon trading and tax is done, cos lots of people are like you and need to be forced to see and look for alternatives.
You will wake up and see how naive you have been in a few years, I promise.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1273752

naivety seems to be a matter of perspective. Grow up and look at the propaganda you have been subjected to mate.
 Quoting: Instance

Is it propaganda that makes me not want to drink oil infested water? Is it propaganda that makes me hate acid rain, farm land exhaustion due to petrol based fertilizers, smog and plastic island in the ocean?

I know about propaganda from big oil. They will say we cannot change cars cos what doe we change first, cars or gas stations? They will say wind cannot bring enough energy. They will say it will at least take 20 more years to change (they said it 20 years ago too). They say anything to keep their little energy empire in their control.

It is you who apparently votes right wing, which is always just a front for rich people who do policies for rich people. So that you are being swindled has been part of your life for ever. I do not expect you to use your brain or have knowledge outside of your box.

Instance, why on earth do you believe fossil fuel is the only cheap solution, except nuclear as an alternative? Don't you see these 2 are the corporate sponsored solutions. Cos it means centralized power, it means control by supply of fuel, it means high profits.

You ignore all these other options?

That's right. So do you think that these goverments will implement anything than fossil or nuclear.
They mask up a small percentage in the community with what you say, so they look like they are doing something positive.

It's all a sham. The whole system is desinged to stay in it's place with minimal change.
You are not seeing the bigger picture here with the energy that we use.
You can put up all the links you want. The thing is they are not viable to run a large city. We need devices that can produce free energy. they have these devices but they won't implement them.
Nicola tesla was the first to produce devices that produced free energy...he called it orgone energy.
The links that you put up are useless in the larger scale of things.
They might be able to run small community's...but to install these devices in every home is impossible because of the costs associated with them.

What you do not understand is that education and science, which explains why we need to reduce fossil fuel, did not manage to make the industrialzed nations change their ways. That the Kyoto protocol and the current carbon trading scheme was devised as an alternative way to change industries. That they did not want to use force and law, but economic incentives to change industry. That it is actually pretty decent and smart how they try to do it.

And that little consumers like you have a problem with it is beyond comprehension. These things are about industries and pollution, it will hardly effect little you in your little wallet. And even if it did a bit, you should be happy to pay it instead of think it will only bring in nuclear disasters and shit.

Are you related to our prime minister..i haven't seen someone that lives over the other side of the world, push and suck up to this tax like you have.

I've seen community's that live of the grid and they can't always have total power output from alternative devices.
That's fact.

The goverments aren't pushing change to decrease pollution.

This is an extract from a major publisher in our country.
that's what they think.

Dirty little lie on carbon tax

THE government has announced its carbon tax will commence in July 2012. Consumers and taxpayers should be very concerned about this new tax.
The announcement is even vaguer than either of the mining taxes announced last year. All we know is that a new and complex tax will be introduced next year. So far, we can't even be sure how much revenue it will raise, except that it will be budget neutral; not even revenue neutral.

This should not inspire confidence. The government has shown itself capable of spending more than the revenue it already raises, and now it is promising to spend all the revenue from the new tax.

There is a dirty little lie at the centre of the government's plan to introduce a carbon price. That is the notion that carbon isn't already priced. The government must be hoping nobody has noticed the plethora of programs that have contributed to rising living costs while minimally reducing carbon emissions.

The conspiracy here is right wing propaganda always claiming anything about the green movement is a socialist conspiracy. While it is pretty clear they protect their current global energy scam.

Somehow you think oil is cheap and solar is expensive. But how can that be. Solar can be done without photovoltaics. It can be done with mirrors and heating oil or another liquid that drives turbines.

Oil requires:

- military to protect it
- miles and miles of pipelines
- huge oceanic tankers traveling miles and miles too
- refining that requires energy and chemicals
- transport to gas stations

How come this is the 'cheap' solution? How come solar or wind cannot be done as cheaply?

The conspiracy is your type, following right wing nazies. Who follow big corporations who control you. Who actually follow communist style capitalist entities. Who do not believe in small scale, small business and human ingenuity.

You are not a capitalist, you follow the current ruling power and their one party logic.

The left actually now has the balls to bring changes. After many many years of being stonewalled by your communist party of oligarchs.

the sellout bitch is only following orders from the crown. all politicians are the same, if the liberals were in power they would be implementing/for it til labor won the next election. then all of a sudden labor would be for it. when the liberals win the next election they will be for it. the crown governs our country! less money to the states = more money to the federal books = more money for the crown. they cook the books and siphon our money to the fascist crown dogs. why do you think hospitals, schools, and infrastructure have gone to shit while the mining boom has brought in 100/'s of billions recently? my old primary school is now an auction house... gdp and economic data are the biggest scam ever!

Yes this is who is behind it all, there is not doubt, people are either blind or just dumb to not see how we are getting ripped by them, the elections are all a scam, face it people they are a 2 headed pig, now with the green gestapo it's a 2 headed pig with a big arsehole. Vote all day long and you will always get the same pig, and by the looks of things it won't be long before we get the arsehole voted in, isn't it good to be green, what a crock of shit, wake up people, they are stealing peoples properties with their phony vegetation protection crap etc, Our property rights/all rights are under attack in a big way with this communist system we have. Instance - Im your supposed unemployed, dole bludging, left leaning naive clean energy supporter....

Reality is Im a business owner whom will pay an extra 4 cents on my mince and an extra $9 a week in lifestyle costs to have a Carbon tax....and guess what - I'll get through that.....and I wont have to lay off any jobs and I dont expect my economy to 'be destroyed' either....

Yes China has more than a billion people and we have 22 million but if The Chinese and others want to (and perhaps intend to) live the same energy intensive lifestyle as we do - what do you expect may happen ?

WE would need 8 more planets right ?
Do we continue our polluting lifestyle and say oh well - the Chinese should cut back and not dare to have what we take for granted.....

or do we actually set an example....

By the way - can you name 1 job lost in Europe as a result of their Carbon Tax systems ?

The EU Commissioner representative here in Australia recently said not 1 single job had been lost....

Yes - Australia is one big mostly overseas owned, greedy big open pit mine....
and yes - the situation is different....

but to make out this will 'destroy' our economy is absolute bullshit...
and if our economy is not destroyed in 24 months - I expect you will admit your mistake...

Meanwhile you ship coal to china by the boatload

you now have a new tax that will achieve nothing apart from cost you money on everything you do.

I feel sorry for Australians but also fear this will be forced upon me

Yes, they get the benefit from the coal, but we're not allowed to. This is about a re distribution of wealth.

She WAS elected Rickster....
as much as you seem to hate it...

She was elected under our democratic system....
and if she won enough seats she WOULD NOT bring in a Carbon Tax..

but because democracy has delivered a balance of power outcome
and the Greens and Independents are required to form government - they will help push and support this Carbon Tax....

In terms of selling things off / overseas owned...
I hope you dont suggest only Gillard and Labor are solely responsible for that trend? Over a decade of conservative Howard era delivered most of that....

So with that in mind - what all your vitriol and hatred for Gillard ?
and you seem to have something in common with Bob Brown whom is also concerned about 87% of mining profits flowing offshore....
