Jessica Sweet User ID: 1295002 United States 07/17/2011 01:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You should probably just let it heal... keep it clean and it will be fine. I wouldn't put anything on it but water or a damp cloth. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1364022Don't use pure tea tree oil on your face in the future..dilute it first. I'm sure you will be fine though. This, pretty much. Straight tea tree oil is incredibly strong, and even worse if you have sensitive skin. I use a tea tree oil facial cleanser from The Body Shop, and even THAT is pretty strong (and my skin isn't sensitive! :)) Just keep it clean and dry. Good luck. I cahoot with no one. |

Jessica Sweet User ID: 1295002 United States 07/17/2011 01:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I wonder if I should wipe the Neosporin off, since that's making it somewhat moist, not dry? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1457789That might be a good idea, if you can wipe it off without irritating the burn further. I never put ointments or anything on burns or cuts, beyond an initial cleaning with soap and water - I figure my body knows how to heal stuff better than something that comes out of a tube :) I cahoot with no one. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1387000 United States 07/17/2011 02:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You may have a rash for several days from it. A little cortisone creme will help it stop rashing faster and get to the injury healing stage. You can use it on most of your body but not your face. If you are sensitive to it you might rash for days because of it. Instead use twice daily cleaning with soap and proactin and if you have acne resistant to that get chlorine and strong sun exposure. Either from swimming or make a diluted chlorine mixture but keep in mind chlorine can blind you if foolishly handled without diluting so you're better off just hot tubbing. Those things will stop the facial bacteria faster then anything. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1457789I rubbed some tea tree oil on my chin to try and treat a blemish. Anyway, I did this on Thursday night, went to bed, and woke up Friday morning with a HUGE, PEELING, RED burn. By Friday night, it had started to scab. Today, I washed my face, but the spot now looks deep burgundy, almost black. I put some neosporin on it, but not sure what else to do. Does anyone else have any experience with this? Thank you for any help you can give. go to the Dr., and stop with your Woo Woo medicial treatments. |

This is what they use in cosmitics, cooking, Med's. TREE SEED OIL is used like olive oil, its good for you and your skin. I know a liitle about Tea I grow it ! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1449724 United States 07/17/2011 04:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Tea tree oil is a great product, but can be very harsh if you have an open sore, like a pimple can sometimes be, an open pore that is irritated, etc. I suggest that you get another version of it, by Desert Essence, called Acne Roller. It is inexpensive, looks like one of those old fashioned glass roll-on lip-gloss dispensers. I have always used it without much side affects at all, it's not overly strong. Another thing that works is toothpaste, or a bit of milk of magnesia, put on at bedtime and let to dry. (not the gel toothpaste). I also really like the gentle version of Sea Breeze to remove dirt from the skin and makeup, works great (the blue liquid) or I get the same in a generic at walmart. Make sure it is not an acne medicine version, those don't clean well. I also really like facial masks, like a clay mask, or a peel-off mask, and when I feel like there is build-up on my skin, I'll use a bit of baking soda for a scrub with a washcloth in the shower, for a gentle exfoliation treatment. Aloe vera is very healing for the skin, as is pure emu oil, to speed healing. Also, keep a good SPF sunblock on any scarred or damaged skin and try to avoid the sun while it heals to avoid permanent or long-term discoloration of the area from sun damage. I use 100SPF Neutrogena spray sunblock - but for the face, spray in the palm and then apply by rubbing. Spray sunblocks should always be rubbed in, or they don't penetrate well. And reapply every 4-6 hours if outdoors or after swimming or heavy sweating. My skin's sun damage greatly reduced after using this sunblock. Also, use lukewarm water to cleanse the face, never hot, and rinse with cold water to tighten pores and reduce redness. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 68425659 United States 02/28/2015 03:30 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes, you MUST use urine, yes PEE on the burn by peeing on a cotton ball, and dabbing this on your burn, every 30 minutes or so. Do not allow it to dry out, or it will peel and turn gangrene! Keep the wound moist with urine, or it will infect. Good luck. |
