Anonymous Coward User ID: 1314440 United States 08/13/2011 07:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I tried Ubuntu a few years back. I got sick of having to copy and paste command line code that I could not understand to fix every little problem that crept up though. I also got little to no help from the community "support." Needless to say, I went back to windows. All that said though, I know a lot of people like Ubuntu, SUSE, and Fedora. There were a lot of things I loved about it. I just ran out of patience for it. |

I like it for gaming, but I've been having issues with security. So what I want to do is look for a good version of Linux to dual-boot with for a bit more secure browsing. I've tried Fedora 15 and it's alright, but it doesn't seem entirely stable. Any other versions you'd recommend? Go get 2.6.1 and wait till he gives thumbs up for 3.0 [link to ultimateedition.info] Stop paying the other company to use your computer. |

Ubuntu is popular but contrary to belief it isn't remotely like Windows. Been using Pclinux for years because it's easy to use. There really isn't much of a difference except for the fact it's by far more secure than any future versions of Windows. |
