Indeed. I thought so too. Jainism is very old. It predates Buddhism and Hinduism I believe......

Historians place it 9th to 6th century BC, but Jains believe it is up to 8.4 million years old.

I'm starting to think Jesus was Buddah. He most definatly was not Jewish, Christian, or Muslim.

All religions have Hypocracy in them, so there is no church that's perfect here. Nothing is perfect here on Earth. I tried so many religions thinking I would find true Peace within but I didn't and that includes Christian churches. But the only True Peace does come from Jesus, not any church or religion. His Love for all of us is Magnificent, unlike any other Earthly 'religion'. When we attain HIs Love, we have HIs power to see through anything.

monk doesn't define a specific religion, there are many types of christian monks, shaolin monks and also there's the dabdos, tibetan punk monks.
