Apparently, the Portuguese knew the true etymology of the local name when they renamed it "Ferro"
(later EL HIERRO, "Iron" in Spanish). THe Latin
Word for "IRON" is "FERRO"<"PHero"------

Is Volcanic----from the word "VOL-CAN"(Cain Lov)----
Who was the Roman God of Volcanos, connected also to VeSTA,
the Every burning flames of Vesta----Curiously, there
is also a Huge Iron Statue Of Volcun in Birmingham
as a symbol of the IRON and STEEL industry there.
