Stay in your vehicle in a Wal Mart parking lot considering your near one. If they let campers you shouldn't pose a problem until you can sell your stuff to rent a place. Rent one of those motel type rooms but overall I hear they are more costly than renting a studio. Best of luck!

Try investing $5-$10 into a random homeless person you find and ask for advice on the hardships they have endured by buying them lunch and have a simple conversation... You would be amazed at what you can learn...

Another simple tip since it seems you have a vehicle... This one comes from experience... A cheap 50 watt power inverter for your cigarette lighter and a small 1 quart rice cooker...

Rice saved my life for two months... A 10 Kilo bag lasted me that long, rationing it out to a 1/2 cup per meal... Was the best $10 dollar investment I made... *another tip within a tip* Crushed up Doritos chips on top of the rice, damn that was really some good flavor after 2 months of solid rice.

And of course, learn something from this, appreciate the things you have, the things you take for granted every day... Like running water and electricity...

Step 1. You're homeless, so you will be bouncing around a lot. Get rid of anything you wont need to be finding work.

Step 2. Find a relative or friend who will let you stay with them LONG TERM while you try to get back on your feet. Move there and dont start any shit with anyone. Maybe try to stay at the beach house if your parents let you pay rent?

Step 3. Get a job. And then find out what you are gonna be paying in bills to your ex.

Step 4. Get your own place and go back to school and become a Dr or what ever.

Step 5. Rather than getting 3 cars, make sure you always have money for a secure place to live, and worry about cars later.

Depends on what scripts you've been taking. Google to find a site in your area & call them up & ask. It's worth a shot to make some quick cash. All they can say is no. And I'm sorry to hear what you're going through. Starting over is tough, I've been there.

Realize stuff can be replaced. Drive to San Diego but before you do, put ads on Craigslist and PennySaver with the address of the storage unit, the time you'll be there and what you can remember you have and a low price for what you remember. Drive down to SD, spend the night at a rest stop or Walmart parking lot. You actually could probably not sleep for one night. After you sell everything possible, you have some cash. Live like you don't have any. Do you have friends? Perhaps you could do some shit around their houses for some food and floor space, not to be more than 3 days, though. You may need to come back later. You need to talk to your folks, too. They may be hardass but if you can paint or do something in their beachhouse, they may see you are actually trying to do something to get out of a bad situation. It will not hurt to try. Any time you aren't looking for work or sleeping, start collecting those cans. You definitely need to drop that pride shit and apply for food stamps at least. You also might find help at homeless shelter. I'm not sure if I would sell my car. Yes, it eats gas but it is large enough to sleep in and carry shit. Knocking on doors, seeing if anyone has junk they want carried away can be $40-60 a day. You are young. This might be the best lesson you'll ever have in life. If you get through this, you'll be able to get through most anything, Good Luck!

Well I lived in Manitoba Canada for 6 months through the winter in a 1984 Chrysler new yorker... -40 -50 C weather and damn that inverter kept me safe and warm...
Get a laptop, *will help with job searches and such* and use free wifi from places like starbucks / mcdonalds / libraries...
If you can get a library card, do it! many libraries have dvd rentals too, which will help you keep your sanity on those long cold nights. You can watch all those people live the life and think for yourself...

Ever think about living aboard a boat? Very little or no rent.... If you set it up right, no utilities either... and you can really entertain people too. *its a unique lifestyle, yet to be adapted by modern urban dwellers.*
My current goal after working 9-5 job for x years doing x crappy job is a boat, I can sail away and never have to pay to exist again... the ocean is my food, my energy, my life... the world is my entertainment, fuck work, as humans, we were meant to live!
