I think dying in some huge event along with millions of people is actually less scary. You have the feeling that you're not alone. Everyone else is going through the same thing with you. We'll see what happens in 2012

I doubt if any death is totally painless, but there probably wouldn't be any prolonged suffering. The signal of what was happening probably wouldn't even make it to the brain.
