Hi. I am just curious if this is happening elsewhere. 10 years ago, the highest bill for electricity I got was during the summer months (with the AC on) - $167.00 in August. NOW - my monthly "budget" payment is a whopping $525.00 per month! This is - NOT DOABLE for me. This is more than 3/4 of my weekly take home pay! Plus of course, like everybody else that does NOT work for the government, or in banking, I haven't had a RAISE IN ALMOST 5 YEARS. I am lucky to have a job at all and I know this. I'm in New Jersey "at the shore". Anyone else?  i'd like to pin this if it's okay with you. this is a massive issue. we have two properties and no ac. one of them barely running and ours is over $450. we are all fiends about turning stuff off. WOW. I have been coming here for years and years, since the Elaine days. This is my Very First 5 Star! I've never had a pin though....if it happens then Thank-you.  BTW - I too am a "fiend" about shutting things off, and about unplugging as many power "vampires" that I can. Crap. now you do have a pinned thread.  my pleasure. hopefully this will generate some advise or info.
