Anonymous Coward User ID: 865798 United States 09/22/2011 02:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Scientists agree if the results are confirmed, that it would force a fundamental rethink of the laws of nature, starting with the special theory of relativity proposed by Einstein in 1905. Special relativity, which helps explain everything from black holes to the Big Bang theory about the origins of the universe, underlies "pretty much everything in modern physics," Ellis said. "It has worked perfectly up until now." [link to hosted.ap.org] |

Scientists calculated the margin of error at just 10 nanoseconds, making the difference statistically significant. Quoting: AP10 out of 60 nanoseconds can be a huge margin of error |

But given the enormity of the find, they still spent months checking and rechecking their results to make sure there was no flaws in the experiment. |

It is the maximum speed at which all energy, matter, and information in the universe can travel." this proves once again we don't know shit and everything we're taught as pure fact is questionable |

For religion-tards it would be like finding jesus's body, but it was Mary instead! One thing I dont get.... DID IT GET THERE BEFORE IT LEFT ? Last Edited by v3ng3nz on 09/22/2011 02:44 PM |

Funny enough, I've been saying this for years, I don't see any reason why the speed of light would have to be the highest possible speed in the universe. Actually it's a ridiculous claim if you think about it. Civilization, here we come! |

Quoting: 3dChild What implications does this have for time travel ? Is it possible to create a neutrino drive and go back in time ? thinking the same thing.. but there are a whole lot more implication, just think about it: FASTER THAN LIGHT Wonder what its like to pick up a phone, and before you grab the receiver, you have already had the conversation with the person... This really makes time seem like a fluid/river, where you can go back forward. Dosnt seem like we are stuck in this frame anymore... of course if its true. Implications are so huge, what would it be like if you could move through time effortlessly ? What would be your purpose then ? If neutrinos can, there could be particles that are timeless, that exist not in the dimension of time but outside of it..... Just opens huge doors Last Edited by v3ng3nz on 09/22/2011 02:57 PM |
