Guns are no good if your ammo explodes. Someone was talking yesterday about the casing getting charged so much that it ignites the powder. I guess you should put your ammo in a metal box too.

Unplug all of the stuff you don't want to fry. then, take your microwave (unplugged) and put every item you can fit into it. It is a Faraday cage.
There is a whistleblower on the Project CAmelot site named Henry Deacon he gives advice on what to do for a CME,he is in the interview section part 2 with this advice ex. Wrap items in cotton than aluminum and bury underground.

EMP will take out most vehicles-older vehicles have a better chance of surviving

RF resistant paint which costs about 90 a gallon but is said to be effective
any paint with added aluminum flakes would likely help as well
reflective blankets for minimizing excessive heat and lack of power(GRID down) to run ACs or fans...or well pumps if one is not on city sewer
Underground is a good storage...unless one encounters EQ in the underground area...

light source for indoor growing if one can pull some power...and have protected electrical appliances...
seeds/water filtration
even that can be done with clean cotton cloth, and using a minimum of 3-4 layers but 5-6 will not hurt to filter water.
Relying on oneself, family, friends, and neighbors as many supplies will be inaccessible
I have worked on this for several years...back to basics-and no amount of preps will be complete.
things to entertain as the normal outlets for that will be slight...
books, puzzles, games, cards, carving, whatever...everyone who pulls through will adapt or perish.
