They refused to lower my payments when I was on a severe disability.
Making nothing and forced to pay over 600 bucks a month.
Then, because of debt racking up they take my license which pulled the rug out from under at least 60% of the jobs I was available to perform.
Real fucking smart system.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2050028 What kind of disability?
You couldn't work at the 7-11 to help pay to support your child?
Did you wait to inform the court that you were injured or were you proactive and go to the court/support enforcement and let them know of your condition and seek to have the payments lowered BEFORE you were in arrears?
See, that's key. You cannot go into arrears, period. The child can't suddenly be cut off from support. They are real people, not some parasite taking your money.
Go to the court and let them know that while you can't pay such and such an amount because of such and such injury you will gladly take custody of the child half the time, or care for the child so he or she doesn't have to go to day care.
It's BS that judges side with the mothers. My mother is in family law and that is just no longer true, at least here in WA state.
You just have to recognize there are rules in place, whether you like it or not, and you have to play by those rules.
