Most of those items will last much longer than the years stated above, especially if sealed inside mylar bags with oxygen absorbers.

Seeds will last decades if stored cool and dark, btw. Add veggie seeds to the list. (Yes, they will gradually lose germination rate, but should remain viable for at least 20 to 30 years if heirloom)

My home canned stuff will last at least ten years in the jar ;)

That's one of the better lists I've seen. I'd add olive oil for sure, among other things.

Herbs and spices are in my pantry, I get them in bulk by the pound from San Francisco Herb Company

[link to www.sfherb.com]

I keep on hand

cayenne
cinnamon
turmeric
thyme
oregano
parsley
garlic powder
black pepper
sea salt
celery seed
rosemary
sage

some others too I'm sure. All of your culinary herbs and spices have medicinal properties.

SFHerb has teas too, herb teas like peppermint, hyssop, chamomile etc. and green and black teas.

They also have dehydrated vegetables, I find the dehydrated spinach flakes to be very versatile and inexpensive.

Been ordering from them for years, always super happy with their quality and service. I also get essential oils from them like tea tree and oregano.

Water. A man will beg for it after one day.
Fight for the second day.
Kill for it the third day.

Hi,
I was reading this site, and wondered if you had heard of LIFESAVER Systems and our Disaster Prepared Kits?

LIFESAVER Systems is quite an extra-ordinary invention, we have produced a bottle, jerrycan and cube which allow dirty diseased drinking water to be made clean. The filtration technology is so unique, we are the only company that offers it to this degree. We filter down to 15 nanometers and therefore allow all disease, bacteria and dirt in solution to be filtered out to allow clean, sterile drinking water to be produced. This is not only an invention used all over the globe and supported by Oxfam, The Red Cross and DFID, the MOD have signed as to be part of the official standard issue kit for all the British Military.

We have also produced disaster prepared kits as listed here:- [link to www.lifesaversystems.com]

Id love to be included in your site as i think you will agree that water is hugely important and people can now have it produced as and when they need it rather than carrying and storing huge amounts of water at any one time.

So!
LIFESAVER Bottle
Replacement Cartridge
Activated Carbons
Medical Kit
Clothes
Warm Blankets
Food
Bleach
Antibiotics

Thank you!

We use buckets with resealable lids and we put a small piece of dry ice in before it is sealed up. Put the lid on losely until it is purged then seal it up with the lid. The oxygen has been driven out. Make sure all the dry ice has evaporated before sealing.
The spices at sfherb.com are very cheap and awesome. I also use this store and am very happy with it. Excellent post.
