Anonymous Coward User ID: 1622547 United States 10/05/2011 11:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you want to measure how great someone is by their philanthropy, know that he reportedly made donations and contributions to charity, he just did so discretely. (Per peeps that knew him). He may not have invented the computer, or windowed interface or mouse, or tablet, but he took those things and made them great. Made them beautiful. I was a die hard windows user, Why would I buy something I couldn't take apart and replace the graphics card? But then I bought a core 2 duo MacBook, and an HP pavilion laptop at about the same time. The HP ran like shit and ended up getting sold for 80 bucks a few months ago. That macbook though, it still runs great, runs windows 7 in VMWare better than the HP did natively. (Both computer had similar specs/ram etc too btw). You really do get what you pay for, and I'm reminded of it every time someone asks me to fix their shitty HP/Dell PC, while I download drivers for them on this 27 inch quad core i7 iMac. Its the difference between driving a Hyundai and driving a Porsche. I'm not so sure about this Tim Cook guy, because Jobs was dedicated to the design/beauty of it too. If you don't buy that, then Apple will lose what makes them special. At lest I figure there are at least a few generations of stuff in the pipeline that were still Jobs mandated, so it won't happen overnight. :( |

Quoting: Awakened In Christ I don't recall asking you to profess he was a wonderful man. We are all sinners and have made mistakes and done wrong to others. Are you sinless? Then cast the first stone..... As I recall Jesus said it is harder for a rich man to enter heaven then a camel to go though the eye of a needle. I know that is not a literal needle, non the less, Jesus was talking about a rich man's greed. Seems he fit the bill... sure are a lot of judgmental Christians on here how does everyone know so much about this man ? how do you know he ripped his partner off and never gave a dime to charity? maybe he gave anony? hmm, he wasnt marrid to a woman and he claims he was sterile really? these are things that are personal and private and your bringing this up NOW? how do you know where his heart was ? thruth is YOU DONT - and you dont even know whats truth or whats gossip and rumor most people who are jealous - like to spread lies I no nothing about the man - and not going to pretend I do other than what I read in the paper tonight about his death but sure are a lot of people judging him ,,not your place! HE ADMITTED THAT HE DENIED HIS DAUGHTER AND LIED TO HIS PARTNER, and it is public record he stopped all charitable contributions at Apple. That is not judging just plain and simple truth. I feel sorry for the man, he missed out on a lot of joy. He missed his daughters childhood, he lost a friend, he never knew the joy of changing someone's life. Amen to that! His hope is not what we think, but its what was true to his heart. All WE have to go on is deeds done, that we know of. Thank goodness, judgement is not ours!!! |

But people who he aparently stole ideas from, People who worked in factories, Which he had some control over. For whom conditions were so horrible that nets had to be errected against suicide jumpers. I refuse to think of these people as an less important than Mr. Jobs. It seem's to often that people will forgive what a person does, Or in fact ignores based on income alone. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1014983 United States 10/06/2011 12:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Oh boo hoo, he stole everything and made out of court settlements for the product which violates US copyright law as he should have made ZERO profit from these acts according to law. The mouse and window based GUI was invented by Douglas Engelbart in 1964, Jobs stole it. The touch Screen was invented in 1977 by Elographics, Jobs stole it. The tablet was created by IBM in 2002, Jobs stole it, the portable electronic music format was invented by Creative Labs and Jobs stole it and Apple still pays a royalty to this day for it. He did make these products look great and I give him full credit for that but he is one of the biggest thiefs in history !!!!!!!!!!!! Watch "The pirates of Silicon Valley" Sounds about right for everything going on in the past 10 or 20 years! Comes out to light so much later. Let the people mourn now. Maybe someday they will understand? |

Jobs did more for the US economy than any politician or corporate whore over the past 30 years. And he didn't doing it by bombing or bribing. By his sheer will and analness he produced innovative products that were of real quality. Its easy to be first, its not easy to produce something that is well thought and runs flawlessly and is of superb quality and build. In this economic crisis, we need more Jobs and innovation and less pettiness and negativity. |

After several years of failing health, Jobs announced on Aug. 24, 2011 that he was stepping down as Apple's chief executive. (A liver transplant! How common is that?) It says nothing about Aids, but that did cross my mind too. You stupid pieces of shit, I just complained to youtube.com to get this SHIT video yanked. Anybody could make a mock-up 'test' showing anybody as HIV positive. Even if he WAS, he was a fucking genius whose efforts are the part of the reason you cumstains can even type conspiracies on you computer right now... This only incites unfounded and unjust fear of HIV positive individuals by trying to link a connection to his death and HIV/AIDS. |

[link to www.hydromissions.com] (These people make life saving water available to the third world) Philosophy: We are missionaries. Most of our customers are missionaries. We understand how hard it is to get things done in the third world. We also understand what it means to work with limited resources. That is why we have adopted a philosophy of "de-engineering" and sharing of information here at Hydromissions. We do not patent or copyright any of our products - that would defeat our purpose. You should be able to look at any of our products and say, "I could make that." Go for it. However, we believe that you will find that we make the products better and less expensive than most people could at home. Our products are unique because they are designed to be reproduced or repaired in whatever country you serve. There are no complicated engines or costly parts to break down, and the local people can easily learn to use and maintain the equipment themselves. In addition, our products are designed to be extremely portable, allowing you to expand your water ministry into new areas that would be difficult to reach by other methods. ============================================= Next time you hear of some frivolous proprietary Ipad feature on TV, think about the real needs of our world. Jobs was a bad job. He conned Wozniak and everybody else for the almighty buck. |

You think the US is eve going to compete with unions, paper work, and pettiness? The Apple was is the only way the US will ever compete in future. Innovation and quality. The US lost the manufacturing numbers years ago and like Britain has no manufacturing base.
