Freemasonry was started by the Ancient Order of the Illuminati as a movement to bring humanity into a new age & rid theworld of satanic religions such as Islam, Judaism & Christianity. Along with the new nation of USA, the Illuminati had high hopes for the movement.

Unfortunately, it was infiltrated by the 'elite' and it has festered into the quagmire that you now know to be modern freemasonry. The Illuminati abandoned the project, withdrew the esoteric elements & mysteries & it is now not much more than a club for protestant capitalists.

What is your opinion on Jesuit trained Adam Weishaupt and his subjugation of Freemasonry in 1777. The alliance between Weishaupt's Bavarian Illuminati was formalized when Baron Adolf Franz Friederich Knigge joined Freemasonry in 1780. This was done in order to complete two important tasks for Weishaupt's Illuminati. First he revised the hierarchy of the Masonic Order by creating new higher grades (degrees) and second, allowed the full integration of Masonic lodges into the system.

By your own admission in being a "Master Mason" (3rd degree) you are either not aware of or choose to remain ignorant towards the truth's that are revealed upon reaching the 32nd and 33rd degrees. In fact the upper echelon of the order is controlled by the genetic lineage of Cain? Surely you are aware of the end time prophecies in regards to that bloodline because of their rejection of Yahweh's commands not to partake in ritual sacrifices? Symbolically when Cain killed Able this became the first example in human history of satanic ritual human sacrifice.

Adam Weishaupt was probably the most controversial Grand master of the Illuminati due to some of his strategies against the ruling class. The ruse that he founded the Illuminati served a few purposes throughout the orders history, but it existed long before Adam Weishaupt. It started mostly as nomadic wandering 'holy men' & was formaliszed by it's first Grand Master, King Solomon. Although it was nearly wiped out by it's arch-rival the Catholic church, it has continued to this day.
Other notable Grand masters include Pythagoras(yep, same one) Hegel, and Simon Magus

If you do your research, you will find that via The Knights of Malta the Catholic church and the Illuminati are now one in the same.
