What makes you say that? And why would it matter to you one way or the other?

That's a little chilly, for sure. How often do the fuel companies get out to the island? Can you get it at the gas station? I know that I've had to go that route. 10 gals. at a time...:/

I lived in Lisbon Falls in the 70's when I was a kid. Sure had fun exploring in the woods. I was into catching wild bullfrogs in this pond that was way out in the woods.

Although we live in CT, my wife's family is from Maine. She spent all her summers growing up in Kingfield. She has family in Waterville, Fairfield, Skowhegan and Rome. Quite a few good preper's there. Great state, I love it. Been going there a couple times a year for over 25 years.cool2

Re: Anybody else on this forum from Maine?
I have never been to Maine, but the North Shore of Lake Superior looks amazingly like the coast of Maine.

My folks have been to Maine a lot and just got back from a big trip out there.

I have read most all of Louise Dickinson Rich, all of Kenneth Roberts, and some John Gould.

Growing up in Minnesota we always felt our state was the best, but that Maine or Wisconsin would maybe be the next (only) choices.

I had a good friend who lived in Lewiston for a while, told me lots of stories about that, always had me in stitches.

He sent me a copy of "The Beans of Egypt, Maine" and referred to all his tenants as "the Beans on the first floor" "the Beans on the second floor" etc.

Lisbon Falls is right in my neck of the woods, so to speak :). Nephew lives there currently. It's become one of the more charming downtowns in the area.

Nice to meet you, davID58! You know, I've lived here for 22 years, and I've not made it that far north yet. When I think about it, I've spent the bulk of my time working, not living in Maine.:/ I'm probably not alone in that.

My sister currently lives in NW CT. Windsor area. Growing up in MA, we spent a good amount of time drinking in CT, because the bars were open an hour later, hahaha!

That pic is gorgeous! I hate to admit it, I'm envious :).

I love the Boothbay area. If I didn't live in Brunswick, I'd choose Boothbay Harbor...

That looks like a place that smells really good. Also, looks really good and I bet it sounds really good too (except maybe the sound of the mosquitoes and flies - I remember that loud overwhelming sound at the lake "Up North" in Minnesota when I was a kid).
