Færøerne - Faroe islands - the passage to manhood????

Well, I am truly understand the need for cultural traditions, and in man rites of passages....but this one just seems downright stupid! RAWR< I AM A MAN I STABBED A DOLPHIN! How silly is that?

1 agree it is kind of hypocritical to just stand up for certain types of animal. What upsets many, is the way humans kill whales and dolphins. The killing is very slow. The animal suffer for hours, before it finaly, exhaustiated, collapses into death.

Most chicken and cows suffer their whole life, from birth to death. That don't upset humans as much.

The humans of China are being used as slaves to produce goods to make other humans and reptiles feel rich. The production is destroying planet Earth, but 99% are fine with that. The cruelty the chinese are experiencing from other humans, they pass along to animals and Earth.

1 don't think human are fully aware on how their behaviour alter other life.

Yes, I know what you mean. However, nobody can be expected to achieve everything all at once, it just is not realistic.

Meanwhile, hundreds of innocent children in the Middle East are being killed by American troops in a war created by TPTB. But do people care about them? No. We choose to care about the poor animals instead. Like the sick people in the silly organization PETA. In fact, South Park made a hilarious parody about PETA. Haven't laughed so hard in my life.

Interesting idea.

I can think of a few other Locations this may of been the case in our Past Civilization.

And the passage to "MANHOOD"/"PRESIDENTHOOD" in America is the BOMBING of an Arab state killing and maiming thousands if not millions? Lets stop the hypocricy for a moment.

So what. If they are eating the dolphins, then I say have at it. As long as they are not leaving it to rot then great. Dolphins are probably highly nutritious.

What I would like to point out also, is that the author of the article refers to dolphins as both helpless, and innocent. Dolphins are intelligent, fast, powerful creatures that are far from helpless.

Further, she says: "Never, ever, killing an other creature, another living being, with whom we share this world, has done any good, to anyone. So let's stop it."

This is a person who is so out of touch with reality that she has literally zero comprehension of how important animals have been to humanity's survival for the last 10 million years or so. It is only with the recent advances in technology that we are able to have the tremendous amount of food variety and distribution that we have today.

Why does one thread have to cover all? GLP allows all subjects you know and you are quite within your rights to start such a thread on that subject.

It is not whether they are eating them or not, but the WAY and the reasons that they kill them.

Again, it is the way they are killed. In fact, it is the way anything is killed in such a fashion.

In this day and age, barbaric methods of kill should not even be needed anymore.

There really is no place in this world for cruelty, whether it be to people OR animals.

Humans are supposed to be spiritual beings, this is what sets us apart from the animal kingdom, therefore, perhaps we should start acting in a more spiritual manner.
