Everyone is angry!!! Something has to be done to make changes. Ever heard of the greasy wheel? That's OWS. They are all on the same page. It's going to be noisey, chaotic and far from perfect, but at least they are doing something. It's a common purpose. They are saying it. Jobs. Do you have children fresh out of college or high school and wanting to go to college? Our government is out of control with with power and greed!!!

I was a starry eyed and naive as any modern protestor.

We thought we were writing, singing, protesting to get our cousins and classmates home from VietNam.

At that age we were the definition of 'useful idiots', our youthful minds unable to concieve of the cunning, century old Marxist mechanism already in place to hijack our energies.

It takes someone who has been down that road, and grown up from it, to see these young kids being played like pawns.

A few decades and a deep interest in history, plus returning to the values of my ancestors, gives me pristine clarity to see what tools these earnest young people are being used as.

They think that just because they are allied to a 'different' sort of larger game (Marxism), rather than the 'standard' larger game, that they are somehow radical, enlightened or free.

They have simply changed masters.

Good morning all. I wonder what this day will bring? I won't be around most of the day. I'll be working today here in Staten Island, and will be avoiding the city (Manhattan) today again.

We lost our pin for this thread last evening, and some have attempted to repin it with green karma with no luck. I guess if we want to keep this thread going, we're gonna have to do that ourselves.

I guess if nothing major develops concerning OWS in the next day or two, we can let it go. I just think that all the links here are good to keep in everyones faces, and to those who may have not found us yet.

None of us knows what the day will bring, but I expect a denoument, a sort of let down for all.

When I saw that gigantic light projection on the Verizon building last night, as protestors massed on or near the Brooklyn bridge... I could sense the subtle shift from building energy to contrived climax, to aimlessness.

The protestors are young. Through no fault of their own, they cannot concieve of things that take decades or of things that take sustained effort.

They probably believed that "the heavens would open" (Obama's campaign promise) and that they would achieve some sort of victory when they symbolically 'took' the city.

And where are they this morning? Cold and vermin-infested, surrounded by people going to work.

What they need is a voice and a structure to express -- quite simply -- their betrayal, their insticts, and their grief.

We tend to underestimate the magnitude and importance that just plain grief plays in the human psyche.

All that they believed true has been a lie. But we, the 53% who contribute more than we take did not lie to them. We simply live and work, take care of our own.

The liberals lied to them. The public schools taught them irrational horseshit. That each is special, gifted, and worthy simply for breathing. That a master's degree would guarantee them prosperity in the best of all possible worlds. That they get a medal just for showing up.

That hunger and cold are not natural conditions, awaiting outside of every door of the imprudent -- and sometimes, even of the prudent.

That there is dignity in all honest labor.

They do not know what they are protesting against. I, however, know.

They are full of hormones, and bewildered.

Instinct lurks, but has not been given reign.

It is natural to go cold and hungry! It is natural to undergo some sort of hardening initiation in one's youth.

But they have been denied those rights.

In a more natural time, young people labored hard outdoors, and they 'worked through' their hormonal excesses of energy while learning practical skills and how to figure things out.

So what do these kids do? They make themselves artificially cold and hungry!

In a more natural time, young people went through tribal or societal initiations, involving physical pain and challenges -- a vision quest, a walkabout, even physical scarification, all the way from the stuff of National Geographic, to the legendary Heidelberg dueling scar.

So what do these kids do? Tattoo and pierce themselves, like some instictive compulsion.

I actually feel sorry for these kids. They do not know why they are doing what they are doing.

They need a wholesome outlet for their instincts, and a wholesome acknowledgement for their grief at watching the promised high standard of living fade from the horizon.

Hey AoT, I'm doing OK now with a little bit of sleep. lol. I had one hell of a day yesterday, and got home a bit late last night. Was just too damn tired to even bother with this damn computer.

Now I'm up at 2:00am to 3:00am, and I'm still exhausted. I even have to get up tomorrow/later (Saturday) at 6:00am to break my butt out in Brooklyn. Sunday as well, but that's just a small job I have to do.

I guess it's just like they say, "no rest for the weary", hey?
