Considering the UK is not even part of the single currency it is a HIGH net contributer to the euro project.

Other euro countries contributions are also listed.

However the UK is being asked to contribute a sum of almost £25 billion towards another eurozone bail out.

With dangerous and unfouded alegations being made about the UK economy by the French finance minister, Sarkozy later appologised, saying no harm was meant.

That's nothing compared to what the U.S. politicians make, plus U.S. politicians get a very hefty lifetime pension, even if they were only in office briefly.

U.S. House and Senate members: $174,000/year
House and Senate leaders: $193,000/year to $224,000/year.

Pensions: $31,000/year to $64,000/year based on how long they served and their highest salary during their time in office.

There's a ton of other benefits attached to that as well, better than most really nice corporate benefits packages.
