Because they have personalities, they always put me in a good mood, I can tell that they are genuinely grateful to be a part of my life as much as I am to be a part of theirs. I treat them with the utmost respect and affection, more than I can say I have ever treated a person, unfortunately. and that is only because people's shitty traits and general brainwashedness, always talking about tv or bullshit video games gets on my nerves in a big way, keeps me from even being able to have a conversation with people. Cats are byfar the only creatures with which I can share my wonder of nature. They teach me a lotm and I try to teach them what little I can. Quoting: armouredkitten Anybody else feel this same connection? CATS RULE. 33 I LOVE CATS AND SOME PEOPLE. |

They want to hug them and squeeze them and never let them go cause they are so fuckin cute. My girlfriend thus doesnt understand why the cats always escape her clutches and come running to me. You need to respect them, not smother them. That is the key to a successful cat relationship. ;D And remember, they are YOUR masters. It was, essentially... torturing it to death. It really seemed to take its sweet, sweet time... savoring every moment. The same piece of shit bit me as I stroked it. It also bit my Mother without provocation, drawing blood, while seemingly content being stroked, I don't hate them. I'm sure there's nice ones. But it will be a cold day in Hell before I ever own one or go out of my way to befriend one again. |

But you obviously have underlying problems when you treat a cat with more respect than any human you have ever met. I love and respect nature and wildlife. Cats are not wildlife, they are like dogs and have been altered by humans and for humans. Not that I have anything against them, but I don't get this fascination. There are cuter animals out there, and more intelligent ones. And: Cats transmit pest and toxoplasmose gondii, a parasite that controls and alters the brain and the way we are thinking. Maybe they have gained control over you. No offense, just an idea. |

Maybe they have gained control over you. No offense, just an idea. I have heard these sort of things about cats. Heard that you can get a worm that causes schitzophrenia of sorts. Never knew what to think about it. Certainly a possibility. I am aware that I have severe mental problems (or should I say maladjustments). I know this has a lot to do with my history of drug use, and what I went through in my teens (am 19 now). I do not doubt I am antisocial, or sociopathic. But it isnt without reason. I believe sociopathy comes from trauma, and my trauma was so severe and all encompassing that it seems almost impossible to overcome. The only way I can seem to be comfortable with it has been drug use with admitted delusional tendencies. But the delusions, if they are indeed, are such that I have no interest in them actually being true. -Why are you wearing that stupid man suit? :armouredkitten: |

They're not nasty like humans...I have very little use for humans as well...though I spose there are some good ones left....I'll take my chances with the cats. It works. |

They choose to see only one side of humanity and inherently insist upon characteristics for animals which seldom exist. The connection though, yeah, I have it. Everyone does. Cats seem to be extremely attuned to it, even more than dogs. They're not exactly loyal though. Someone with a high affinity, or connection, could ask your cats to bite you and they would. I also find both men and women with cats prefer constant attention and refer to said attention as affection. |

You should have seen the look on people's faces when they'd be running with their dogs and see my cat staring at them from over the side of the bed. I never really liked cats, was always partial to Golden's. One day while grilling up some bacon wrapped filet mignons he came along. I knew better, but fed him anyway. He came back. It took a long time before I finally called him my cat, but he was so much like a dog that I forgave him being born a cat. Probably the most cool moments were at the vet. All these women would come in with their traumatized, howling cats in a box, and there would be mine, sitting regally on a towel in a chair. The nurse would call me up to the window and ask where my cat was and I'd point to the chair. All the cats they've seen and they were shocked to see one sitting quietly, unaided by himself. Now that I live in the country, I have cats, but they are mostly utilitarian. They keep the rats down, but I wish they'd leave the good snakes alone. I miss that old tom.... |

They have other functions, mostly to do with power and wanting food and attention. I have a cat I love a lot but I don't want another one. I know people with several cats and some of them pee when they get upset, they can be nasty creatures, certainly not all are "sweet". People who love animals more than other people are delusional. Fine, don't love people, but don't think your animals love you. If you die, they would eat you. They are animals afterall. |
