It is said that one cycle of the Mayan's the long count calendar would begin in the year 3114 B.C. (according to our modern Gregorian calendar).
The most commonly accepted correlation is the Goodman-Martinez-Thompson correlation. The GMT correlation establishes that the 0.0.0.0.0 creation date occurred on September 6, 3114 BC (Julian) or August 11, 3114 BC (Gregorian). This correlation fits the known astronomical, ethnographic, carbon dating, and historical sources.

Cycles of Venus do not take thousands of years. It is all based on galactic seasons and ecliptic alignments, in some cases syzygy's. In this case, the earth moon sun alignment is said to align with the galactic ecliptic. What will come of it? No one is sure, but 3114 B.C sounds like the era of the great inundation and collapse of the Sumerian civilization.
