One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one. Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway. Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?. . .J. Handy |

Do you think the government will help people with food etc? i suppose they will try,we export alot of food to other countries,so i think we will have enough to feed ourselves...if you can afford it...or wait in a really long line with 100's of people... i dont know what will happen to be honest |

Learning about first aid and locating ten good all around medical herbs from your area will really help. Much of what I've written here is applicable for any country, especially Europe since many of the same herbs were transplanted to the USA. Thread: Last minute tips for parents when the SHTF Most people are thinking short term. I believe that everyone should be learning the old tribal skills and that's how we can cope with major life changing events. That's truly the only way to survive and thrive. Good luck to you. Finding a permaculture community in your area may be the fastest way to learn those skills. Maybe this would be a resource for you: [link to www.stroom.nl] |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1298243 Netherlands 01/11/2012 02:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | jep im from holland. been a prepper for about 10 months now i prep for: -jobloss -economic collapse -euro collapse(with bankrun and all that stuff) -riots and strikes -some natural disasters(flood, heavy snow, etc) -some warscenario,s in other country,s that result in shortages. i have already 1,5 years of food stored. got all the neccessary tools and trades to make it more comfortable if shtf. i keep buying food, water, vitamins, painkillers, bandages etc. bought some waterfilters and tablets to clean water (we all know there is enough water around us and rain here) so far capable for 12000 liters. i stored about 100 liters bottled water in the house just in case. bought multiple stoves(alcohol, gas and organic) bought a kerosine heater, to heat my house if the centralheating fails. there are other possibilities than firearms alone. if they come in your house sticks and stones can really break bones. im sure you can think of something else to keep them off off you. think native, think some ball and puck sports, think practical, think medieval. well you figure it out. bought a fire extingisher and plan to buy some more(ive seen the london riots)its better to have some than have none also wanna buy some airmasks for that type of scenario my plan is to bug in, i live 12 metres of the ground in an appartment building that was build when constructors knew how to make strong concrete and let it take the time to harden well instead of more hardeners and other chemicals. no prefab walls i can tell you that. im planning to make some preparations to harden some weaker area,s like doors and windows. extra deadbolts, steelstrips to harden the doorframes, burglary proof windowfilm and lexan sheets for some windows and boarding for the others, maybe some security bars and such. this will mostly be fitted when shtf of course but its better that you have it planned ahead already. keeping them out is better than having to defend yourself. and if i don,t need all the stuff?? well people don,t really need an expensive phone or computer either i have a simple phone and a simple computer, and i can keep all my savings in the bank, but we all know that there,s gonna be a bankrun and the euro is gonna be useless sooner or later. so what would i do then when all my money is useless? the preps i made are somewhat of and insurance for bad times. better have it and not need it than need it and not have it. |
