Joe Paterno has passed away. Official and updated 10:30 AM Sunday

The man was catholic that defended the priest doing the same thing, then one working for him also did the same thing...does anyone see a pattern... The man was ring leader, he did his job well, entertain promoters, endanger kids, the school was extremely proud of this character, no doubt involvement in the school.

I will never hire anyone from the school as the eduction they received was lacking in so many ways. Just keep it up north. Don't bother coming south, you just might not be respected I mean look what your school, coach, and educators accepted all for the dollar bill.

Really makes me sick, I just want the rest of the group to fall, it is 2012. Waiting for the Veil to collapse....

lol, PSU has many top notch programs, you are in the south eh? I forgot about all of the Ivy and Patriot league schools down there! Or all of those SEC and Big 12 schools that have more academic all americans than PSU football.

well I can guarantee most that are posting against that man do not have the sin he gets to carry for the rest of eternity. Being catholic that defended this same behavior out of the catholic priest was the nail in my coffin for him.

He was ring leader along with Penn State Administrators. The reputation of the school is tarnished and dented never to be the same. Every resume I see, when penn state is listed as the school, the candidate goes to the bottom of the pack. I really do not want to deal with this type of slime in my organization. I feel sorry for the children that went to school there, football be damned, their future is tarnished.

lol, yea Sandusky ruined their education, lol. I am sure they are better off not being in such a narrow mindedly ran organization anyways.

I totally agree. Thoughts are things and disappearing the man won't change the thoughts. He was corrupt, sick in the head, or just plain evil. Of course alot of that information is coming to light with or without him, he's not the only one but it is a start.

Let us see. I do not care if the new plays interest you or not. The game evolves and will continue to do so, as do the athletes. lol, mass hypnotism for beer commercials. I am disappointed with the lack of intellectual thought developing in this thread.

time will tell, most people have awoken and are not manipulated by the media as they once were. Just how many schools are out there and they do not have the tarnish that creep helped to ensure it continued to exist.

Students put your degree on the resume, just put the state on the resume. That way if you get an interview at least you can discuss the matter otherwise you are discounted, thank Joe for that.

THe vast majority of the world is not interested...just college allumni associations lead by college presidents who are hired to push sports for their college enrollments.

Yea, and despite what you may think, a PSU degree still has meaning. You associate sports with academics, and you own or run an organization? Damn. Having the largest alumni association will help them overcome the weak or feeble minded who share your thinking.

Some truth in the above post. But what they fail to realize is that money and viewing makes it important whether they agree or not.

You are a good person. I am merely stating that the vast majority of people really do not care. Even if they say it in polite conversation--they really are not that interested in sports.

Now we have families with kids who use this as a family outing fun thing...that's good...but it can get out of hand an the kids do and can get a distorted view of sports as way too important.

I taught High School in a football town. They are nationally known. The coaches were very good friends and even they saw how wierd over time the entire program got.

True, I agree. It is just where the money is. It is sad when the money and sports take over the education aspect of both some high school and college programs.

And you are qualified to make such a statement on the behalf of some who may be innocent in the matter. I am not condoning the sin of Mr. Sandusky, but is his shame obligated to be spread across all the Penn State people. Ask yourself that!! We do not and now may not know the whole story, which is in and of itself unfortunate.

And thank you for not condemning me to hell for not completely blaming Joe Pa for Sandusky raping children.

And think about this: Had McQueary told Paterno he suspected something unethical going on with the *team* - say illegal recruiting or paying players - you damn well bet Paterno wouldn't just "report up the chain" - he'd have followed up on it. But he passes along an accusation of child molestation as if he were just delegating a chore -- and no follow up whatsoever? RRRIIIIGGGHHHTT.....
