Benzo ESP Xanax wds were hellish worse than any other and unfortunately , I experienced all of the above , thankfully , I'm still alive although I have nerve issues from 25 yrs of rxd benzos and ESP from effects of the withdrawals . I got off of them to save myself but it wasn't easy it took a 2 year taper and still had many very bad seizures . Don't start !!! the side effects are worse than what theyre prescribed for and problems are still there under the numbness and eventually have to surface and be faced . Be well .

Going to a longer acting benzo is the first step. I would say Klonopin, not Valium... it's half-life is too long.

There is an excellent way to get off benzos that uses legal gaba agonists with a oscillation between a long acting benzo and the gaba agonist. Actually, use the legal gaba agonist and nearly cold turkey the benzo then taper the legal agonist until symptoms appear if any then offset those symptoms with a short five to seven day usage of the long acting benzo. This will work.

I think anything with panic attacks is the worst. I have done opiate withdrawals many times. They are terrible, but one panic attack that lasts for four hours and then happens again the next day makes two weeks of opiate withdrawals look like child's play.
