Re: GETTING OUT: 1,000+ Americans ditched their citizenship over taxes
Rather than deal with the complexities of U.S. tax law, Americans living overseas are increasingly renouncing their citizenship in order to avoid paying their income taxes.

According to National Taxpayer Advocate Nina E. Olson, approximately 4,000 people gave up their citizenship from fiscal year 2005 to FY 2010. Renunciations increased sharply within the past three years, from 146 in FY 2008 to 1,534 in FY 2010. And during the first two quarters of FY 2011 alone, 1,024 Americans ditched their citizenship.

Second, others have accused the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) of “bait and switch” tactics, telling Americans they can resolve their unpaid taxes under an “older voluntary disclosure programs with the promise of reduced penalties, only to find themselves subjected to steeper penalties.”

According to tax attorney Andrew Mitchel, another factor has been a change of law in 2008 that means “non-U.S. citizen, nonresidents can now annually visit the U.S. for 120 or more days without becoming taxed as U.S. residents (under the pre-2008 rules, visits to the U.S. for more than 30 days during any of the 10 years following expatriation caused the individual to be treated as a U.S. resident for that year).”

I find nationalism offensive and outdated. So did Einstein.

“Nationalism is, in my opinion, nothing more than an idealistic rationalization for militarism and aggression.”

“National loyalty is limiting; men must be taught to think in world terms. Every country will have to surrender a portion of its sovereignty through international cooperation. To avoid destruction, aggression must be sacrificed.”

Most people do not have a problem with taxes if they aren't being used for evil purposes. Most of us in the USA can see that our tax money is used for murder and destruction. Law and order have broken down and the psychopaths at the top are openly flouting the law. We have lost all confendence in government and will no longer contribute to it. Continuing to pay into such an evil scheme is like paying for your own enslavement and death.

They still have those things in their new country. One doesn't renounce citizenship without first obtaining citizenship in another country. Do you really think people are safter in America than elsewhere? Not in my experience. In any event, the IRS has no business forcing citizens living overseas to pay taxes. What other country does that?

I have a BIG problem with federal taxes. How do u tax someone for their labor? It's unethical. It is an equal exchange, my labor/services for ur goods. Nobody makes a profit for this transaction, therefore no One should be taxed.

The sheep are in the building. It's our duty to pay taxes? Since when? Dropping your citizenship is UnAmerican? No what the government are doing to you illegally is UnAmerican. Everyone should be dropping their citizenship and become a sovereign. U are a corporate fiction until you wake up and claim what is rightfully yours.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5634940

THIS DOES NOT WORK! I became Sovereign in 1992 and 8 years later, I found myself in federal court facing the IRS. Once you become Sovereign, you MUST get really educated because you cannot hire a lawyer to defend you. Sovereignty, means that you spend all your time researching the laws to protect yourself (Crap, I want to enjoy life).

There are other way to do this, still remain in the system and pass your tax burden to other entities. Look up Common Law Trust on Youtube, there is a lot of good info out there without having to spend your time reading law. Once a CLT is set up, which will take some time if done correctly, you can more or less coast as long as you keep your records straight, which takes about an hour a month.

Free Planet - MESSAGE FROM THE FUTURE
Dear inhabitants of Free Planet,

you might not have realised when you put your hands up in your billions to BANISH the concept COUNTRY from your vocabulary, but it really worked.

Without COUNTRY, there were no borders you felt compelled to protect.
Without COUNTRY, there were no rulers to fight in the name of.
Without COUNTRY, there was no-one to hate or belittle.

With no borders to protect, with no ruler to fight for and with no one to hate or belittle, you agreed (as a global race) to get on with your lives, explore real diversity and work out ways between you to bring this planet back from the brink of ruin. Banning government and disbanding the Corporate War Machine, that was a master stroke. And so obvious, once you put your mind to it.

Well done, everybody.

Very scary statements above. However, this is how the jewish community thinks. They want a one world government where they can lord over us. We Gentiles are beasts "in human form" to serve them. A nation is defined as; like heritage & culture.

What we have to address is the violation of our First Amendment;

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, Overtly or covertly. The separation of judaism & state.

The IRS is the collection arm of the jewish institution known as the federal reserve. Paying taxes to this organization is being subjected to judaism. A first amendment violation. A civils rights violation. Theft. The jewish community is a war mongering, nation wrecking, parasite, living off our labor.

We owe them nothing besides refreshing the beautiful tree of Liberty with the blood of jewish tyrants. It's not only our right, but our duty!

I will not leave. I will honor my nations forefathers & fight the enemy combatant on my soil known as jewish people. Thats why the first sentence of our first amendment addresses religion. These nation wreckers have been running their scams for thousands of years. They are not traitors.

To be a traitor, one must first be apart of something, then, betray it. They have never been apart of our nation, they are only terrorists. The nation within the nation. Refusing to assimilate. Enemy combatants. Foreign soldiers who should be arrested on sight. Wanted, dead or alive.

Thats why Jewish groups (two percent of our population)currently receive 81% of homeland security grants in the year 2011. 2007-2010 they received 77% of all grants. They know they are doing wrong & should be held accountable for their actions. Thats why they go to such lengths to protect themselves, of course, at our expense.

Pay those taxes, slave. A nation wrecker is depending on it.

Re: GETTING OUT: 1,000+ Americans ditched their citizenship over taxes
the US is the ONLY country that charges it's citizens taxes on money they earn overseas while living overseas

no other set of expats has to be double taxed like americans

it's not that we dont' want to pay taxes---it is just that we are paying too much

if you are self employed, you have to pay double taxes --to your current country that is providing roads, hospitals etc

and then again to the US for ?????

if you are an employee, you can deduct the taxes you pay to your country of residence from what you owe the US up to $90,000 in income i think---then you owe the US IRS
