A case of an enteric coronavirus infection in a 6-week-old dromedary calf is described. The animal had diarrhea for 5 days and died despite symptomatic treatment. Numerous viral particles, approximately 140 nm in diameter, with club-like projections were detected in the feces by electron microscopy. These characteristics were consistent with a coronavirus. Immunohistochemical reactivity with 2 antigenic group II coronavirus-specific antibodies confirmed the presence of viral antigen in colonic epithelial cells. The death of the animal was attributed to a neutrophilic and emphysematous colitis that likely was caused by an infection with a Clostridium sp... [link to vdi.sagepub.com] |

Today camel racing is an expensive hobby that few can afford because some breeds cost more than the most luxurious cars in the world, with prices reaching as high as one million Qatari riyals ($360,000)..Every year, several camel races are held in Qatar and other Gulf countries. The races attract enthusiastic crowds of dignitaries, citizens, and residents. Participants compete for valuable prizes. The most valuable prize is the Golden Sword awarded at the end of the year at the Al-Shahaniya track in Doha," he told Al-Shorfa. Tala al-Nehma, owner of a camel breeding farm, said many farm owners spend heavily on camel breeding, adding that the Qatari government provides many benefits to support farm owners, including water and veterinary services... This person is unlikely to be a poor saudi as he travelled for medical treatment , and his age would make me think that he unlikely to be looking after camels for herders or the wealthy , is it possible he was a racing camel owner ...... if so then that would put him among the elite and therefore explain the medical bills being paid . can we find out were in saudi arabia he travelled from ? was it mecca ? medina ? had he recently been on umrah? again the age would lead me to think unlikely however he could new living in what is in an expensive area to live If no information is given out on this case then in all likely hood i would suspect him to be one of the lesser princes or brothers to . |

Ummm, it wasnt an outright compliment though that is well earnt as well, simply a statement of fact, but from the tiny snippets that I have picked up on over time, I am not in the least surprised to learn this latest information also. In fact it fits pretty well with what I have imagined the picture to be. And the term lateral thinking, well now there is a term. Have you read Edward De Bono, he invented the term. I watched him talk on TV a while ago, what an absolute genius, one of a kind, especially in his field of expertise, but a true gentleman as well. That term refers to people who buck the transmission trend with a given bacteria or virus, infecting many more people than is the norm. Dutch virologist Ron Fouchier gives a succinct answer when asked if a superspreader could profoundly alter the pattern of spread with this emerging virus: "Yes." If the virus infected someone who turned out to be a superspreader, and that person sought care in a hospital that wasn't taking precautions against novel coronavirus infections, this new disease could rapidly begin to resemble SARS.
