PARIS (MNI) - The following is the text of a letter sent by Antonis Samaras, President of Greece's New Democracy party, to European Central Bank President Mario Draghi, as well to European leaders and the IMF. The letter pledges support for the austerity measures required by Greece's second bailout, but says that the plan may need to be modified to give a priority to economic recovery. "As I have already stated in my letter to you of November 23, 2011, my Party, Nea Demokratia, is committed to the Stabilization Program's objectives and key policies and to their successful implementation. The same holds, of course, for the MoU/MEFP, which was voted last Sunday by the Greek Parliament via a large majority of MP's. In particular my Party is committed: To promote competitiveness and growth, support the deep structural reforms in the labor, product and service markets and the ambitious privatization plan under the program. The agreed adjustment of labor market parameters, will hopefully give a strong upfront impetus to promote employment and economic activity. This is especially true for an economy already in deep recession for many years and whose unemployment level is well over 20%.

The financial system had created around $700 trillion in notional money prior to the crash of 2008. There simply isn't that much actual cash or 'real money' - stuff backed by something tangible, to cover this.

We now see an inevitable slide into chaos. When we can no longer approximately agree on 'real value' of things then capitalism can't work, no matter what bail outs are thrown at it.

I must also add that socialism and communism can't work either. Non of the old systems can work. They all relied on limitless resources, but the planet now has too many people on it, all expecting 'liberty' and improving living standards.

We have had a population and living standard explosion over the past 100 hundred or so years. Now we have reached critical mass and start the slide to oblivion. There is now nothing and no one who can stop this. They will fart about trying but its unavoidable.
