Dolphins are one of my favorite animals. They're beautiful, and very intelligent as the researchers said. But at first when I saw this thread, I thought it was very strange. After reading, I can see that it may be immoral to keep them in aquariums or amusement parks though. That part makes sense. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." - Matthew 22: 37-39 "What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?" - Galatians 5: 22-23 |

Dolphins 'should be recognised as non-human persons' Quoting: Laura Bow Dolphins and whales are so intelligent that they should be recognised as "non-human persons" and given their own bill of rights, researchers claim. The animals have distinctive cultures, societies and personalities and are so complex that they should be considered in the same light as people, experts said. Isolating dolphins and orcas in tanks at amusement parks is morally wrong because the animals are even more socially driven than humans, they added, while killing them is tantamount to murder. I agree. There are others I would add to this including elephants and the big apes. In the end we need to start valueing all life equally. Unfortunately we are limited by our biology and God built into us the need or desire to eat meat so I think we will always eat animals but it's unfortunate our very existence is built on the killing of other creatures. But being a meat eater myself I blame that part on God. But to the degree we can I think we should treat animals with respect and some like dolphins really should be completely off-limits and universal bill of rights would be a great place to start. Attempted rape, charge the dolphin and put it in jail! I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw. We must all realize a sink a chair and a pillow are all luxuries of home and a soldiers helmet takes the place of all three. |

First, the scientists need to discover a way to fully communicate with the dolphins, using a man-made sonar. Scientists need to discover how to create sonar signals that the dolphins can understand. So, humans will finally be able to talk with dophins. Let's see what they will to tell us... |

As long as the unborn human being has no rights, then dolphins and whales should have no rights. Since my avatar is a puppy, then puppies need rights before dolphins and whales. Yes. if we must kill and eat them, they should be treated with respect and spared as much pain as possible. The American Indians hunted bison, deer, and other animals for food. When they killed the animal, they thanked the animal and the Great Spirit for providing food for the hunter and his family. Now, this is not done. People post pictures of themselves holding up the head of deer they killed, to show how big the antlers are. This is not respectful. Everything alive FEELS. We need to recognize this, and not kill needlessly. |
