I've noticed that Paul never attacks Romney.... This would be a HUGE move for Romney and having Ron Paul as VP could actually make a race between Obama REAL CLOSE... Another strange fact.... LBJ was Texan and Kennedy was from Massachusetts.... LOL Ron Paul is from Texas and Romney is from... yep Massachusetts |

I've never even thought about it until now. I think it would beat Obama/Biden. |

Romney the backstabber is what the Obama campaign would paint him and there would be nothing he could say since it would be true! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 10321326 United States 02/23/2012 02:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think it's more likely Rand PAUL FOR vp or some other post in exchange for Paul support , setting up the kid for a run in 8 years. If Romney pulls it off or 4 if he doesn't. Ron Paul knows it's not all about Ron Paul- it's about the movement, the revolution to a less powerful federal govt. And he is well aware and capitalizing support that that sentiment is gaining. Ron Paul the GOP is not going to back a 76 year old guy and think he's re-electable at 80 and he's throwing the GOP "clan" to the woodshed. Paul is doing the groundwork to gain a foothold in the GOP for years hence. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1301689 United States 02/23/2012 02:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Paul attacked Gingrich right off the back because Gingrich is a slime-ball. I think he's come to dislike Santorum now, too. No bad blood between them, and maybe Paul doesn't want to hurt the front-runner of his own party. |

A few weeks ago I noticed that attitudes toward Paul, from the media and other candidates, softened. Something like this, a VP spot on the ticket for Ron or Rand, might explain it. Of course, the VP position is pointless. It would be a coup for the central planners, however. Nice job of staving off the rEVOLution ... For nothing is secret that will not be revealed… |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 10973428 United States 02/23/2012 03:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If Paul is the VP, then absolutely nothing that he is running on will ever be accomplished. He will have no real power, just like Biden. It will not be like the Cheney\bush administration. Everything that makes Paul a promising candidate will be null and void. Really what would be the point? He might as well just stand down. Ron Paul as Romney's VP is equal to Ron Paul suspending his campaign. Hell if anything it would show that he is more concerned with obtaining a higher place of power, instead of rebuilding our country. Ah well, Politicians is as Politicians are. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 9581681 United States 02/23/2012 03:43 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Another explanation that I had thought of, is that this is strategic on Ron's part... Team up with the front runner Romney to smack down every other candidate and reduce the race to just Mitt and Ron and in the head to head battle Ron has a better chance. It's worked pretty well so far, as Cain, Gingrich, Huntsman, Perry, and Bachmann all were basically turned into temporary front runners. Santorum is the last obstacle. If Ron teams up with Mitt to torpedo him, Ron will have a better opportunity to go after Mitt. It's easier for an "outsider" candidate to go up against one significant opponent than to take on the whole crew, so one by one Ron is working with Romney to pick them all off and then he might go for Mitt. But it's looking like it might not come in time though, unless Santorum tanks before Super Tuesday. RP's still strong w/ delegates though, so he still has a slim chance. |
LifeInDeath User ID: 844726 United States 02/23/2012 03:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'd be interested to see how many Paul supporters would actually vote for Romney if he joined the ticket. I'd also be interested to see how many Romney supporters would be turned off to Romney if he had Paul, if any. It could really work well, or it could just turn out to be a big nothing for the campaign. I think the Rand Paul idea would be a huge mistake for Romney. Rand Paul has a pretty creepy, supercilious demeanor about him -- different than, but reminiscent of Romney's own creepy, supercilious demeanor. They'd be one of the most off-putting tickets in terms of personality, or lack thereof, in political history, I think. There's just nothing there to like. I get why people like Ron Paul, even if I'm not a fan. He's got a regular-guy way about him that is familiar to people. But his son talks and acts like he thinks he's God's gift to America; like his rise to power was foreordained or something. It just won't play on a national stage, though I'm sure he'll be running for President in 4 or 8 years (depending on who wins in November). Vp literally has next to no power. Paul and Romney's positions couldn't be more different. why would Paul do this? because hes bought and is controlled. mitt can easily get some other conservative to increase his street credibility with the right. im pretty sure mitt got orders to make paul his Vp straight from a bilderberg meeting. they got mitt on speed dial. Paul was obviously working for mitt Romney in the debate tonight. how ethical was that? this piece of shit Ron Paul has been exposed!!!! |
